This large air-conditioned condo sleeps six. It has one queen-sized bed in the Master bedroom on the ground floor, and four twin-beds upstairs, two in the loft and two in the second bedroom. Each room is its own temp 'zone' and has its own adjustable thermostat.
Ocean Edge Resort has everything - three pools, fitness center, restaurants, tennis and basketball courts, golf course, walking, biking, roller-blade pathways, bay side and ocean beaches nearby. Condo is located in Howland Village only a short walk from the forested trails and fresh water ponds of nearby Nickerson State Park. This unit is about 1/2-mile from the Fletcher swimming pools. The paved Cape Cod Rail Trail passes through both Nickerson State Park and Ocean Edge Resort. It goes for miles and miles in both directions, providing a safe place to walk, jog, or ride a bike for strenuous fitness runs or leisurely family outings with small children. Bike rentals are available all along the trail, including at the Ocean Edge Resort.
This condo has a well equipped kitchen with plenty of pots and pans, serving utensils, measuring cups and spoons, baking pans, cookie sheets, sharp knives, silverware, dishes, cups, glasses, place mats, etc. There is a microwave oven, coffee maker, blender, electric frying pan, electric mixer, electric can opener and several ice-cube trays. There is a lobster pot, dishpan and drainer, cutting boards, grater and other cooking and baking paraphernalia typically found in well equipped kitchens.
All beds are made up with clean sheets and pillow cases upon arrival. Extra pillows and pillow cases are available. Guests provide their own hand and bath towels, wash cloths, dish cloths, paper towels, etc. Towels & wash cloths may be rented for an extra fee.
The energy efficient air-conditioning system includes an integrated heat pump that provides both cool or warm, dehumidified, filtered, ionized air throughout the condo for complete comfort in any weather. Using 'split' system technology, both bedrooms, the loft and the large living/dining room area can each be set to different temperatures maintained by separate thermostats to match individual preferences and desired comfort levels. Thermostats in each zone are hand held remote control devices similar to a TV remote and are extremely easy to use.
About access to Ocean Edge Resort's Pools: Ocean Edge Resort (OE) features lovely swimming pool areas that are well equipped and maintained. The Fletcher Pools complex is the largest one, and is the nearest one to this unit -- about one-half-mile away. Note that due to a change in the Resort's rules, condo owners can no longer provide their guests with free access to the pools. Renters now pay for their use of the pools.
In the past, adult guests have paid $10 per day; children under 12 pay $5 per day each; kids 2 and under are free. Weekly passes are available; adults $40; children $25 each. (This year's rates have not yet been announced.) This fee provides unlimited access to all available pools with color coded wristbands distributed/purchased directly at all pool venues.
We love sharing time here each summer with our four grandchildren (and their parents). As we approach retirement years, we plan to spend much more time here ourselves. This vacation condo has provided us with a very restful place to relax, renew and re-energize for otherwise busy lives at home in northern New Jersey.

We have been vacationing in Brewster every summer for nearly 30 years. After our three children grew out of our pop-up camper, we rented here at Ocean Edge for five years ourselves, and enjoyed it so much, we decided to buy this one, and make it available for rent to others when we could not use it. The rental income does not pay for the full cost of ownership, but it sure helps.
Our experience as renters taught us a lot about how to make the rental experience better. For example, when owners provide good quality sheets that actually fit each bed, it makes it so much easier to stay there. But, alas, most owners do not because, frankly, it is a hassle to get them all cleaned, folded and sorted out again after the rental season is over. Plus, the Cleaning Service charges more to make the beds during each changeover. But based on our experience, we decided it was worth doing, because it makes for a much better rental experience,
Another thing we learned as renters was the advantage of proximity to the parking lot. This unit is only a short walk away; some others are much farther away, and many require negotiating steps too, and that can be a challenge when your hands are full. As we get older, we find the short distance from car door to front door is increasingly appealing, especially on the days we arrive and leave.
We also found it desirable to stay in units that did not back-up to the golf course, especially if they were near the tees or the greens. Noise from golfers is particularly unwanted early in the morning while trying to catch a few extra winks of sleep. This unit is far enough away from the golf course that you will never be bothered by those who are enjoying it.
Speaking of location, a nice thing about this place is its walking distance proximity to Nickerson State Park -- practically across the street. The undeveloped forests, ponds and open space in the Park are ideal for walking and biking -- pleasures easily enjoyed by those who value the physical exercise involved.
As can be seen in the reviews posted by previous renters, the large screen HDTV we recently installed was also much appreciated. And if the weather is unseasonably hot or rainy cool, you will be grateful for the comfort provided by the advanced air conditioner/heat pump system installed.
Never rented at Ocean Edge Resort before. I would "definitely" recommend this vacation rental to our friends/others. We would like to rent this unit again in the future. The owner provided great quality sheets on the beds; the place was super clean, and had a wonderful TV. The only thing that wasn't perfect was parking -- sometimes we had to park around the corner because spaces in front of the condo were all full. It wasn't a long walk -- but with beach chairs, coolers, etc. -- it was a little difficult. This doesn't change our attitude about the property -- it is the nicest place we have stayed on CC and hope to go back again. The owner was the most attentive landlord we have ever had. The property is excellent. Our vacation was wonderful because we had a safe place to return to each night. The information packets sent were very helpful.
Ocean Edge Resort includes several condo villages located around a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. This unit in Howland Village also happens to be very close to Nickerson State Park, a thickly forested hard-wood wilderness preserve right in the heart of Cape Cod. Paved and unpaved park trails lead to fresh water ponds and beautiful pristine beaches. Or, get on the Cape Cod Rail Trail and go for miles and miles in either direction by foot, bike, or roller blade. You'll pass through deeply wooded areas, alongside fresh-water ponds, through natural meadows, across salt marshes, and see quaint historic village centers with ancient cemeteries speaking of the love affair people have had with the Cape for centuries. The National Park Service operates a Visitor's Center that explains how the Cape came to be, and how it is likely to look 10,000 years from now. A winery tour is another option for those who only want to spend part of their time on the legendary bay side and ocean beaches.

Golf: The award winning Jack Nicklaus Golf Course on the resort property may be available to non-members during off-peak times. The Town of Brewster maintains another fine public golf course nearby, The Captains Golf Course. Other courses are available elsewhere on the Cape.
