Like a tree-house in the woods, this cozy cabin near Bass Lake and Yosemite National Park brings the outdoors in with soaring two-story windows, sky lights and a large deck overhanging historic Lewis Creek. Join Great Blue Heron as they fish for rainbow trout. Pick blackberries and fish as you hike the trail in front of the cabin along Lewis Creek to Corlieu Falls.
Relax at the cabin or explore this beautiful area, as it is conveniently located approximately 10 miles from the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park and Giant Sequoias- the impressive Grizzly Giant sequoia is estimated to be 2,700 years old. Hike Yosemite Valley and waterfalls, and river raft on the Merced River as it tumbles and twists from the Yosemite Valley.
It is approximately 30 miles to Badger Pass Ski Resort, and 5 miles to Bass Lake, a picturesque high mountain lake with boating, skiing, fishing and swimming. Nearby horseback riding is available year around.
Narrow Gauge Railroad, a steam train excursion through Lewis Creek Canyon, provides all the sights and sounds of a historic mountain railroad, as well as moonlight ride and barbecue specials, gold panning and museum exhibits.
The cabin is ideal for couples. We strive to provide a really lovely, relaxing experience, and will work with you to ensure that you enjoy your stay and return over and over again!
My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Creekside and really enjoyed our time there. The cabin is spacious, beautiful, and had everything you might need. It is as pictured in the listing. The cabin was clean and well-maintained. Loved all the windows and natural light coming in. You can even lie in bed and look up and see the stars at night. Even though the creek was dry, the area behind the cabin gave you the feeling of being secluded. We enjoyed our daily sightings of the Stellar Jays and squirrels. Loved the huge deck. It was convenient to our daily trip to Yosemite and close enough to Oakhurst for supplies. Rick was helpful in recommending a good place for groceries. The cabin has a basket filled with all the information you might need to explore the area. I cant imagine anything that could add to this cabin. It even had free Wi-Fi. Thanks Rick and Christine for allowing us to have this wonderful cabin to stay in during our trip to Yosemite!
My dad, myself and my 2 teenage boys stayed at this cabin for 5 nights. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. We only went into Yosemite twice, the other days we swam and fished in nearby Willow Creek (Rick was very helpful in suggesting this place). We found the cabin extremely cosy and well equipped. We spent the evenings on the terrace using the barbeque most nights, very easy and convenient. Unfortunately there was a drought, so very little water in the creek - we will have to come back another time :-)
I have so many positive things to say about this place, that I don't know where to start! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon. I spent a long time looking for the perfect place, and this is it! This cabin was the perfect base camp to our Yosemite travels. The town of Oakhurst is small enough to not be obnoxious or noisy, but large enough to offer all the necessary amenities such as grocery store and pharmacy. Also, if you stay here, a meal at the Southgate Brewing Co is a MUST! We stopped in just for some appetizers and brews, and ended up going back for dinner the next night! Anyhow, back to the cabin! The cabin is just as pictured; floor to ceiling windows and skylights that display the beautiful stars as you lay in bed! The place is clean and very well kept. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the grill out on the deck is a great touch! We spent a lot of time out on the deck in the mornings and evenings. If you place a cracker on the deck ledge, you will probably get a visit from the beautiful stellar jay birds in the area.
The owner Rick is very friendly and happy to help with any request. Even though Rick lives just up the street, he does not intrude nor make you feel uncomfortable. Our friends came to stay the night and Rick made sure that the pullout couch (VERY comfy, btw) had clean sheets, and even washed the mattress pad for us just to be sure it was clean!
The only con was that the washer was not functioning at our time of stay (6/17/14-6/21/14). So if you plan on doing laundry while there, inquire about the status of the washer beforehand!
I HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking for the perfect getaway cabin for a very reasonable price!
Everything about our stay was perfect. Along with our confirmation, Rick sent helpful links to websites about Yosemite and the surrounding area. We met Rick when we arrived and he had some very helpful suggestions about things to do during our stay. The cabin was as shown in the pictures, fantastic. It’s easy to find, quiet, close to Yosemite, clean, and everything you would want in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. We will recommend “Creekside Casa” to all our friends. This is the best place to stay when visiting Yosemite!
The creekside cabin was just as the description says! We had a wonderful stay here. It is so peaceful loved the creek out back and the full deck was so nice to sit out on in the morning and at night! Also loved the skylights above the bed the stars are in full view! The Cabin is stocked awesomely and it is clean and comfortable! Close to the town of Oakhurst, with good restaurants and shopping if needed. We ate at El Cid and Woody's New Orleans, both were very good! The drive to Yosemite was very nice! We would definitely recommend this home to rent!
The windows all over the cabin made for such a lovely connection to nature. We were thrilled for the short two night stay here. The kitchen was fully stocked with every cooking necessity. It was a treat for us to meet Rick. It is always nice to talk with a local person about the area, but to visit with Rick was wonderful. Winnie Pu Pu, his dog, was a fun addition for our boys while we visited. The cabin surroundings were beautiful. The birds were peaceful. The area was quiet. The water was what brought us to the cabin, and it didn't fail us. We played for hours within the creek and its rocks. What a charm. A winner!
