The 'Woodshed' is located at the Robinson Point lighthouse, a working historic lighthouse station, nestled beside the keeper's house and perched atop rugged ledges overlooking the Atlantic. It is surrounded on three sides by water and features dramatic island panoramas to the south and west, Isle au Haut Thorofare views to the north, and dence spruce forests to the east. There's a nice private bath. A full kitchen allows you to provide for your meals. Downstairs is a large living/dining area, and up the spiral stairs are the sleeping quarters where you'll find an airy dormered room with a double bed and a terrific water view with an adjacent small study, suitable for vacation projects or an additional guest.

We are a very quiet, secluded island. While staying here you are welcome to bike or hike through Acadia National Park, investigate our rugged shoreline, watch local lobstermen haul their pots, revel in the pleasure of seeing porpoises and seals, watch occasional windjammers and sailing ships, and enjoy some the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises you will ever experience. Included with the woodshed are bikes for guests curious to explore the park, the village, or to follow the town road around the island to an idyllic swimming pond. There are cultural activities too! Lobster bakes, church services. parades, contra-dances..it all depends on when you're visitng but usually there is something going on!

If you would like to arrive by your own boat, we have a deep water dock to accommodate you. The woodshed is a short walk or bike ride from the beautiful tiny fishing village of isle au haut, and is adjacent to the remote wilderness area of Acadia National Park. Off the road, off the power-grid, and off the map, the Woodshed is powered by solar energy and a windmill. Our crystal-clear water is extracted from the sea by a generator-driven desalination contraption near the woodshed that rumbles several hours a day, so please help us conserve water and power (and limit the noise) with judicious use of lights and shower.
