renters beware..

My Family and I wanted a nice get away for our 2009 family vacation and this little "paradise" seemed liked for the perfect spot. We were so excited!! Upon arriving, the pool was nasty, light was hanging out and all the pool chairs were broken (cheap plastic). The house smelled of a wet dog and smoke. We were like ok the good outweighs the bad and we are here and overall we are on vacation so lets enjoy.
The wifi didn't work, so do go prepared to check your office emails or any others. Take washclothes b/c they do not check inventory. Also if you are allergic to fleas...BEWARE my legs and feet were eaten up. The den is infested and the master bed as well. So needless to say I spent the week scratching and buying medicine.
The house was nice, but the owner hasn't been renting it long so you will pay for the "wear and tear" out of your pocket. Have the owner walk the property with you upon arrival and departure..... Trust me we paid to recover the pooltable, that hadn't had any expense to it in 41/2 years.... We were told that it had the felt pulled loose and was just minor... The felt was worn out and needed to be recovered at the owners expense... but it went to the renters expense. We had to go thru all the rotten pool items, and just went and bought new floats. Then we wanted to grill and had to go replace the tank to have propane. You see all us this wouldn't have been bad if we were not nickeled and dimed on our way out.
Also, if you take small children beware.... We didn't but were ask several times if there was small children there. Lets just put it this way the "Summer 2009" vacation that we wanted to keep in our memories turned out to be a a "lesson learned".
Upon leaving we cleaned the house, washed even the bath rugs. cleaned the pool, left new washclothes, floats, and just wanted to be good renters and had every intention on returning... Well this will not be our spot again. We will choose another that the owner is use to have rental property and the EXPENSE of rental. If you are going to have rental then one must know the expense that comes with the upkeep. The light out in the pool was so dangerous we could not see the kids swimming at night... and the pool light hanging out, with wires and all was left like that until mid-week b/c they only treat this 40ft pool once a week....Yes, once a week. That was amazing to me, because a pool of this size has to be treated at least every other day..
Again renters beware!!!

After sneaking in additional guests, more people than we ever accommodate, and damaging our pool table, and causing additional costs due to so many people using our house and pool, they still left this horrible False account. I even returned the balance of their deposit after paying for the pool table repair and just asked for them not to return to our house again. Look at the other ratings it is obvious that this person is Not Truthful. NO we won’t rent our house to them again after they sneak in a huge group of people and damage the house and furnishings we have to try to reserve the house for people having respect for our beautiful house. Thank God we have had great tenants aside from this one and many repeat clients we have actually had several people re-book the house within the same year so there is no need to allow “bad renters” back to our house.
