Beautiful home

We arrived there with our 4 children and were amazed at the view and the beauty of the home. The owner had put out fresh flowers and the home looked and smelled very clean. The 4 bedrooms and baths are a great size. The upstairs master bedroom has an amazing view. The description given was accurately given on the site. The garden in front was well maintained. The pool was very clean. The owner was available to greet us and to aquaint us with the home.
The only negatives were that the dryer and dishwasher were both broken...otheriwise, I would have given this an "excellent" rating - with a family - that was a lot of extra time away from the fun hanging clothes and hand washing dishes. Also, in 2 of the bedrooms, the windows in the showers should be covered or only use them in daylight or people walking by may be able to view you easily at night. In addition, there are only 5 chairs to dine at on the kitchen bar - we are a family of 6 so that was a little bit of a bummer.
In regards to restaurants, we really enjoyed The Rolandi Hotel's restaurant. It's an Italian restaurant ran by a Swiss chef. Great pasta options, grilled fish and decent wine selections. The restaurant near the lighthouse was good for lunch, casual, inexpensive and great service. In the market/shopping areas in the city, is Cafe Rolandi, which may be related to the Hotel as well. It was very good for a family dinner.
Although taxis are readily available, you basically have to walk outside and wait for one to drive by. The golf cart was the way to go for us. We have girls aged 8-12 and the 4 of them were able to sit in the back of the cart comfortably. But, we were told that 5 was the max (for the traffic police) so we were worried at first but never had any problems.The grocery store was easy to get to and all kitchen gear was there - made cooking very easy - although we went out for most lunches and dinners. This is not a property actually on a beach. It's an ocean view home and you can walk a few hundred yds down from the home and do some beachcombing but it is very rocky - not much sand. We really enjoyed swimming in the pool and seeing the ocean straight ahead of us. Beautiful. The owner, Julie, was quite helpful in advising us of babysitting options and overall island must sees and do's. She is very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this home to any of my friends or relatives.
