Wonderful stay

My husband and I rented this cottage for a three night getaway and were not disappointed. We found it to be clean and comfortable and spacious for the two of us and our two dogs. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is even a washer and dryer if you were so inclined to do some laundry while on vacation. We didn't need to use the loft bedroom as there were just the two of us but the loft is a perfect setup if traveling with kids. This cottage would be great in the warmer months as there are decks out back in which you can enjoy the views of the salt marsh. Views were still beautiful even in December as it lightly snowed one of the days we stayed there. We usually stay closer to the Kennebunkport area but we found this location offered more peace and quiet. It is just a short drive to Kennebunkport and a very quick drive to Goose Rocks Beach.

When we arrived at this lovely cottage, we were taken aback by the views. It is in a perfect location, a short walk to the beach and within a short drive of just about everything. It is our first time to the area and we just loved it. The trip could not have been more perfect and this setting was exactly what we were looking for. The amenities were exactly as described and totally comfortable. WE LOVE THIS HOUSE!!!!!

Excellent choice

This was our first experience using HomeAway, and it will certainly not be our last. This little "cottage" was perfect for a long weekend, and the amount of privacy it affords so close to the beach is unbelievable. We were only about a 10-minute walk from Goose Rocks Beach, and we either walked or ran both to the beach and on the beach each morning we were there. I can easily see where this cottage would be absolutely ideal for a warmer weather getaway as it was absolutely perfect for early winter. Clean, confortable, and unpretentious. We were able to relax and feel at home without being afraid to sit on the furniture. We will definitely consider this property again should we have another opportunity to visit Kennebunkport for more than one day.

Vacation at Goose Rocks Beach Cottage, October 13-20, 2012

My husband and I had a wonderful and peaceful vacation at this cottage, which is comfortable and well furnished. The salt marsh is beautiful in the fall, and the house has three levels of decks from which to enjoy the view. It's an easy walk to Goose Rocks Beach, which is a great place to walk. We appreciated the fact that we could have peace and quiet when we wanted, but it was only a short distance to Kennebunkport and its good restaurants. We also visited two of our favorite museums, the Portland Museum of Art and the Museum of American Art in Ogunquit (which is a gem not to be missed).
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
