Casa Galesa luxury villa with private heated pool

We have stayed at Casa Galesa two years running, 3 weeks this August and enjoyed our time immensely. The house is very clean and well maintained and furnished to a good standard. It stands high on a quiet hillside overlooking a pine clad valley with distant views to the sea. The upstairs was extended this year to give each bedroom its own bathroom. The views from upstairs over the valley are breathtaking. There is plenty of cupboard and drawer space in each bedroom. The kitchen is surprisingly well equipped for those like us who enjoy cooking and the outside built in charcoal barbecue is easy to use and especially good for the local fresh fish. The pool is south facing and sparklingly clean and has a new cabin with changing facilities and fridge. It is accessed by a steep flight of steps down from the house. This may be difficult for older people but no problem for children as long as you go with them and keep the gate closed. You need a car as It is a 7 minute drive to the nearest supermarket which was well stocked with a good fish counter and bakery. Larger alternatives are in the nearby towns.The villa is taken care of by the delightful John and Mary who are a mine of information and very helpful. We found good beaches to the north and south of Calonge that the children loved. There are numerous nearby towns and villages to explore from the noisy Platja D'aro to the beautifully preserved Pals and Peratallada. By the sea at nigh time try Calella and Lla Franc.
