Lovely, large 3 bedrooms, 3 bath condominium at the Flamingo Marina Resort. This is the largest unit in the resort. The condo features a brand new kitchen with stainless appliances and granite counter tops, has been professionally decorated, has 2 balconies overlooking the Pacific Ocean and is only 100 yards from your own private beach. In addition, the resort offers 4 swimming pools, lighted tennis court, a restaurant and the famous Monkey Bar where you can swim up to enjoy your favorite beverage. A five minute walk takes you to the beautiful Flamingo Beach with lots of body surfing and a one mile long beach for leisurely walks or more strenuous beach jogging. And at the end of the day enjoy the beautiful sunset over the ocean. Playa Flamingo offers many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The resort offers a tour desk for any of your tailor made outings including Eco Tours, zip lining, rafting, trips to Arenal and many other excursions.

We spent Christmas 2008 through New Years 2009 in the condo and enjoyed every minute of it. My husband and I and our two children, a 20 year old and a 16 year old, had plenty of space in this unit. It was modern and clean and quiet (except for the New Years celebration!) The property manager, Rene, went above and beyond in making our stay enjoyable and relaxing. Steven & Brian & their dad, Ricardo, were absolutely awesome in showing us around their beautiful country and in offering helpful tips and advice on getting around and enjoying adventures! The grounds around the condo are very well kept and security was obvious throughout our entire stay.

We took two planned tours, one the Palo Verde National Park river tour, and the other the all day Guachipelin adventure including zip lining, rappelling, climbing, horseback riding, and tubing. I would recommend either but caution that the Guachipelin adventure is pretty vigorous (and not the smartest choice for someone who is afraid of heights!)

We rented a car and traveled around Guanacaste without a problem. Some of the roads are very "rustic" but our car was able to maneuver well enough. And the locals were very gracious wherever we went in giving directions or in laughing with us when we would order food with only a very rudimentary knowledge of the Spanish language. Many people spoke at least some English. Overall, the people were exceptionally friendly and the country is absolutely breathtaking. We ate at several restaurants in and around Flamingo but especially enjoyed Camaron Dorado in Brasilito.

The Condo was very nice, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances. Very comfortable king size beds. There was just alot of little bugs in the kitchen. That would be my only complaint, now that could have been our fault because of fruit in the garbage etc. The condo was cleaned every 3 days, and it was great having a washer and dryer which they provided the laundry soap. Remote control airconditioning for every room. It was great having a condo that size as felt like a home away from home. The deck was great to sit out on and watch the waves coming in. You would lay in bed at night and listen to the waves, awesome. It was extremely quiet at night, I would go back again in a minute. We went alone this time, but even with our 3 kids along it would have been great as there is a t.v. in the bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Also it is very very safe there. You can walk to Flamingo beach, nice walk or stay at the small beach out front of the condo. you can sign up for any tour you want at the marina, it was nice to have a home base, and it really does feel like home when you have that much room. The only thing the condo didn't have was a kettle for tea, I just used a pot! We talked to alot of people on there holiday in C.R. and they had problems with roaches and low water pressure or no hot water, we never had a problem with any of those things. Nice place, loved it!
