Fresh and saltwater at one location:
With freshwater ponds in the backyard and a short walk to a beautiful beach on Pleasant Bay from the front yard, renting this home brings you the best of both fresh and saltwater. Stroll the private lane where car speeds are limited to 14 MPH and you can safely walk with your children to the beach. Swim in the warm, quiet, clean waters of Pleasant Bay while you watch the sailboats race by. Enjoy spectacular birdwatching which only a freshwater pond provides.
A short drive takes you to the wild surf of Nauset Beach on the Atlantic Ocean or the incredible sandflats of Skaket Beach on Cape Cod Bay where you can walk out 2 miles on low tide. Or stop at the beach on Crystal Lake on your way home from the ocean to enjoy a refreshing swim in the warm 'sweet' waters of a beautiful lake. Dune tours, whale watches, seal watches are unique experiences enjoyed by young and old alike.
Water is the heart and soul of Orleans and we take great pride in our pristine waters.
Fishing, kayaking, biking:

Fish from the piers in Chatham, Wellfleet, or Provinctown or rent a boat and drop lines at Town Cove.
Kayaking has 'taken off' on the Cape and there are several places to rent kayaks. Guided tours are available for experienced paddlers or first timers. The quiet, peaceful waters of Pleasant Bay are perfect for paddling.
The Cape has extensive bike trails through woods, dunes, connecting towns and going to beaches. If you don't want to bring your bicycle, rentals are available.
