A charming and unique 1786 colonial cottage getaway. OPEN ALL YEAR! !It is beautifully restored and decorated by a noted interior designer. A very private and peaceful setting. This 3 bedroom 2 bath cottage is quite spacious and luxurious, every detail has been thought out. Quality linens in all the bedrooms and baths. Enjoy the large screened in porch overlooking a beautiful meadow and wetlands area, where you can easily spot a large variety of birds, deer, turkey and geese and the occasional fox. A fully stocked kitchen to accommodate any meal preparation. Dinning / game table that can seat up to 8ppl. Prepare a gourmet dinner in the full kitchen or barbecue outside on the patio and relax in the Adirondack chairs enjoying the tranquil setting. This charming vacation rental feels very remote and peaceful but is only 10-15 minutes from a great variety of restaurants in the villages of Rhinebeck, Tivoli.and Red Hook. Located in the Hudson River Valley, known for the historical estates located along the Hudson River, quaint villages, Bard College and the Fisher Center designed by Frank Gehry. The Duchess County Fairgrounds hosts one of the largest county fairs in August, along with antique shows and the Sheep and Wool Festival. The Aerodrome in Rhinebeck has fabulous airshows and biplane rides. Take a cruise on the Hudson River and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We are located 35 minutes from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, 40 minutes from Woodstock and continue on for great hiking in the Catskill Mountains.

For ultimate relaxation

We have rented many homes through the internet, but this is, by far, the BEST ever! It is SO comfortable, so well appointed - we were able to completely relax and enjoy ourselves. They even provided us with delicious coffee!! We have talked it up with our friends and can't wait to return. Thank you for providing such a clean, user-friendly home!

My friends and I just experienced the most delightful and relaxing weekend getaway! The house is immaculately clean with a kitchen that is fully equipped for delicious meal-making. The living room and kitchen area are perfect gathering places for social time together and the bedrooms or screened in porch are perfect for quiet time. We loved every minute and are already trying to plan our return visit!

Bruce and Deanna are wonderful hosts and extremely accommodating. I recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet retreat and time with your favorite people.

Lovely Cottage

We rented this wonderful airy and moderized cottage for our 10th year anniversary and had a great weekend. The linens were crisp and the towels fluffy and soft we spent the entire weekend sittiing on the porch watching the birds and the deer. We antiqued went to farmers markets and took an excellent hike on the hudson recommended by Bruce. The chocolates, lists of local favorite restaurants and the cheery vase of fresh flowers were a lovely touch. We felt at home the moment we arrived. N0 internet or cable which was fine by us, but the weekend was a real scorcher so the upstairs was a bit warm. We broke down and used the airconditioner and the fan at night. Bruce was lovely and made himself available to us with directions and ideas for dining and local orchards for picking fruit . Finally ....Don't miss the swing out back VERY peaceful with abundant wildlife and beautiful trees on the property. The hot tub just made the weekend for us

This is a wonderful home and the care given both to it and to the renters is terrific. The house is in perfect condition, no worries at all so you get the best of an old home and none of the hassles. Bruce and Deanna are attentive and available. It was perfectly clean and comfortably furnished. Supplied linens and towels were all perfectly nice. The screen porch, overlooking the marsh, is a big plus. The restaurants in the area are pretty amazing and the activities plentiful. Don't miss Mercato in Red Hook for truly memorable Italian food or, if it's summertime, the local farmers markets. The area is nice enough that we were house hunting by the end of our stay. The only caveat is that there is no cable TV - so come prepared to watch movies or go TV free for a while. Great rental.

We can only give the highest grades to this lovely rental house. I had joked that if it was half as nice in person as portrayed in the description and photos, we would be happy. The reality was better than the advertisement!! The house is spacious, is beautifully furnished and decorated, complete with all the amenities one could want. When we arrived it was clear that it had been thoroughly cleaned, the bedding was fresh and of a very high quality. Despite the date (early Nov), we were able to enjoy a glass of wine while sitting in the Adirondack chairs, enjoying the beautiful setting. Another nice touch was a note with a listing of local restaurant, grocery stores, sites to visit, etc. We tried two of the suggested restaurants and were very pleased with the recommendations. Our only regret upon leaving is that we live too far away to make this house our routine get-away place.
