Absolutely gorgeous custom oceanfront home on Linekin Bay. This home offers panoramic views of the Bay and the open ocean out towards Ocean Point. Boothbay Harbor and Linekin Bay are world famous for their boating and sailing grounds and this home has it all. Along with all the other amenities this custom architect designed executive ranch also has its own private dock and mooring for the boating and sailing enthusiasts. For your sailing guests we also have access to the association dock. A private pebble beach rounds out your water activities.

Every room has a gorgeous view right down the Bay and many have their own private deck in addition to a family deck facing the ocean that runs the full width of the house.

Relax in front of either of our 2 fireplaces while looking out to sea and enjoy meals in the dining room with sliders out to the full width deck overlooking Linekin Bay.

Local Area: 'Tallwood Ledge' is a spectacular 5-6 bedroom, 3 bath ocean front home perched on a bluff overlooking the islands that mark the approaches to the popular Boothbay Harbor area. Another short drive is Boothbay Harbor which is full of shops (sorry guys!!), fine restaurants, sightseeing boats and fishing excursions. It is an ideal central location to spend a few weeks exploring the entire Maine coast. Wiscasset, Damariscotta, Pemaquid, Camden and Rockland are only a short drive. Had a wonderful stay!!

My wife and I along with 3 other couples enjoyed a great week staying at Tallwood. The house is right on the water with a great view of Linekin Bay. It is a great house for several couples to share as the bedrooms and bathrooms are spread out enough for privacy and the dining room was large enough to seat 8-10 people comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and then some. We cooked in 2 nights plus breakfast each morning. The deck is a great place to sit and read in the solitude of Linekin Bay. The only sounds you hear at sunrise are the lobster boats checking traps and the birds chirping in the trees.

We brought kayaks along and spent many hours on the Bay. The floating dock made it easy to get in and out of the water. Fun, fun!!

Tallwood is only a 3 minute drive to Boothbay and only about 10 miles to Wiscasset. You must go there to Redd's for lobster roll and scallops - the best anywhere!!

While the house isn't new, it was VERY comfortable and met and exceeded our expectations. This is the third time that my wife and I have been to Linekin Bay and Tallwood has been the best place that we have stayed. It's a great place for a large family or multiple couples to stay.

This house was dreary! The furnishings are ancient; the house is in disrepair (the sliding doors are falling off their hinges, the master suite door unusable, the gutters overflowing with pine needles and leaves); the basement suite has an exposed rock that has groundwater running over it making the entire basement damp and mildewed. The kitchen is equipped with only the most basic utensils and pots/pans. The beds were moderately comfortable but all the linens are mismatched and poor quality. It's obvious that because it's FOR SALE, only the most basic upkeep is being done. Don't waste your hard earned vacation staying in this unacceptably uncomfortable house.

Owner's Response: Wow …not a single phone call during or after their stay. I'm sorry that these folks didn't enjoy their stay, I'm not sure what their expectation was and I wish they had the courtesy to call me while there. Our listing is exactly what they saw before arriving and what they had during their stay at Tallwood.
Regardless of their comments, virtually everything you see in the photos of our home is as they stand. A few cosmetic updates/improvements were completed after the pictures were taken a couple of years ago, prior to this guest's stay. Mostly freshening and updating older paneling with new sheet rock and fresh paint.
The 'ancient' furnishings as described most people would call family heirlooms and valuable antiques. All the beds are brand new, except for one antique mahogany canopy bed. The bedding was purchased in the last two years from local area furniture stores. The linens are matching sets unless a prior tenant folded different colors together after running the brand new washer and dryer. Thanks to the earlier tenants for doing the laundry and we will make sure that no yellows and blues get mixed together again.
The folks, who wrote this love note, were the final tenants for last summer and we did find, after they left, that a bi-fold door had a broken pin into the track. It's being replaced this spring. We removed one of the doors to the laundry to accommodate the larger new washer and dryer. Don't know about the master bedroom door. We've never had a problem closing it and no one else has ever complained. Again these folks were the final guests last summer and never called about a single issue .. wish they had. Everything's checked and repaired or replaced before the season begins.
The kitchen was renovated within the last 4 years. The 'basic utensils' as described include a complete set of gourmet, Induction suitable cookware, assorted other pots, pans and baking dishes included. Even a lobster pot. These go with the new Thermador Induction/Coil hybrid gourmet cooktop. Nestled under the custom granite countertops you'll find a high end Kitchen-Aide dishwasher, Kohler double bowl, extra-deep sink. You'll find a large double door Kitchen-Aide refrigerator/freezer with water and ice in the door matching the dishwasher .
We spend five hours cleaning and preparing Tallwood for our next guests. If there should be a problem a telephone call is all it takes and we have things fixed, repaired or replaced promptly.
