ENJOY THE BEST CONDO AT COMBATE BEACH IN SUNNY CABO ROJO

When you walk into this apartment, even after a day at the beach, the view will make you feel at home. There are no other developments to obstruct the view, just ocean and some grassy hills. I found myself sitting on the balcony each afternoon reading a book until the sun went down. Many of the other properties we considered in Cabo Rojo offer no view, so we were happy we chose Costa del Mar.
The apartment grounds are well maintained and the pool is lovely - big hit with the kids! The apartment was clean, well stocked with everything, and the kitchen had everything we needed.
Our favorite destinations were the light house at sunrise, followed by a stroll down to Playa Sucia for an early morning dip. The other beach that should not be missed is Playa Buye. But, the nice thing is that there are plenty of close destinations and if you find yourself at a beach that doesn't "wow" you, move on because you will find it just around the corner. One day we went to Playa Boqueron, we weren't too impressed with the snorkeling, so after an hour we packed up and drove 10 min. up the coast to Playa Buye and we stayed there the rest of the day.
A final note: we forgot a bathing suit on the balcony and after the house manager found it, she called us. We made arrangements for her to mail it to us - wow!

A wonderfully remote and relaxing vacation just as envisioned. This property has all the basics needed to enjoy this beautiful corner of Puerto Rico. The view will have anybody in a meditative state every moment from the the gorgeous sunlight at morning to the beautiful sunsets.

Be aware that the TV/DVD is for watching movies only and that the owner has a few in stock. There's no cable or local TV and cellular signal is limited and inconsistent (not the owner's fault, FYI only). This is a place to disconnect.

The area has markets, a pharmacy and local restaurants. It was great having a gym. Our host Doris stayed with us on the phone during the last few miles of our drive to ensure we found the spot as addresses in Puerto Rico are not as easy to follow as in the mainland US, though a GPS will get you very close.

Overall a great stay we would repeat and recommend.

Our family loved the stay and the apartment, especially the
attention of Doris who was very nice and helpful.

HOWEVER, , I was told that the apartment was to be cleaned Thursday or Friday morning before we arrived, but the same day as soon as we started to unpack,the entire apartment floor at a glance seemed cleaned
but barefooted without having left the apartment we all had black
feet. Under the beds it was extremely dusty, noticeable that it had
not been cleaned for a very long time, we bought paper towels to handle
the stove and microwave oven, since it was filthy and full of grease,
the kitchen sink was full of sand. We decided not to complain at that moment because this would have taken time from our vacation, there was nothing to do at that moment but handle it and clean what we were using but it was quite
uncomfortable. The kids room wood bed had so much dust that we had to
put a bed sheet to cover the drawers and shelfs so that my child
would not get asma.

We sent a email to the owner when he solicited the second payment which we had already paid in cash as instructed in the agreement, but it seem he had no knowledge of it, but we did want to let him know, so that next clients wont have the same impression. It is part of the payment so we expected it to be clean its unfortunate to get that impression when the apartment is truly
nice. And most importantly we are there to relax on vacation not to clean. Other than that the place is nice and very private. Near La Parguera, Boqueron and other nice places.
