A week of bliss

The Highway House on West Lake is a gorgeously restored house located between Bloomfield and Wellington. The property was very clean and well-maintained -- we got exactly what we saw on the pictures of the website. The fully equipped kitchen, washer & dryer, huge flat-screen TV and home theater system, Internet connection and the large BBQ made our week-long stay an absolute delight. Only thing missing was an iron and ironing board.
When not enjoying the property (catching up on reading in the sun-room and enjoying the wonderful view), we explored the County by visiting a variety of wineries (Wapoos, Norman Hardie, Rosehall Run, Huff Estates, Closson Chase...) in the region, enjoying local and seasonal cuisine (the County has so many great restaurants -- for ice cream, Slickers is a must!), contemplating nature at a variety of conservation areas, going for jogs on the Millenium Trail close to the house, and enjoying the beach at Sandbanks Park -- the house comes with a pass to any provincial park, so we able to avoid parking/entrance fees.
All in all, an absolutely wonderful experience.
