Nanaimo Vacation Rental condo

We love this place and have stayed here many times. The unit, although small, is so nicely decorated and it is always immaculate. The kitchen is well equipped down to brightly coloured drink glasses to take to the pool. We appreciate that within two hours of leaving Victoria, we are unpacked and ready to begin our vacation. My husband has quite a stressful job but the minute we drive into the grounds he is in relax mode because it is so serene and peaceful. You couldn't ask for a more lovely view and we spend quite a bit of time sitting on the balcony watching and being lulled by the water. You see fish jumping, otters and seals bobbing around and very few boat engines to destroy the calm. Nights there are just magical, so quiet, the moon shining over the water. You really feel like you are away from it all. But there are so many more things to do and it's hard to cram it all into a few days (so if you can, stay longer). The tennis court is well maintained and surrounded by park and trees and the swimming pool is wonderful, heated but not too warm and right on top of the beach. There's also a hot tub. You can swim in the ocean too if you are very brave. Exploring the beach is a must, lots of tide pools, shells and interesting driftwood and at low tide you can walk a long way. Because we have a hard time leaving the property we bring our own meals to cook (the owner provides a barbeque down below the unit). But if we do decide to eat out we go to the Crow and Gate Pub a few miles down the road - if you go there the pan fried oysters are so, so good. There are other good restaurants further along in Cedar but the Crow and Gate is our favourite - authentic English pub with gorgeous outdoor seating in the garden. There are also quite a few small artist studios in the area but I must admit we seldom spend anytime doing activities off the property, we need all our time to swim, enjoy the beach, play tennis and contemplate the beautiful view. My only complaint with this unit is that the fridge is so small and you have to bring your own ice if you want to have lots. I highly recommend this property unless you need action 24/7.
