Step back to a quieter, more peaceful time and enjoy the lapping of water outside your bedroom window. Listen to a loon calling to her mate. See an eagle soaring high above the huge pines. Quaint mid-century charm awaits you at Osprey point. Enjoy a breathtaking 280 degree vista from the living area. Located on over 20 private acres with 1000 feet of waterfront, Osprey Point offers a vacation to be cherished and remembered. There are two bedrooms, one with a full and one with a queen sized bed. A futon and a single fold-out sofa in the spacious living room complete with Jotul wood stove. A roomy dining area, a small but functional kitchen and a small bathroom with a shower. A screened in porch offers amazing sunsets. You should find everything you need at Osprey Point. Linens and towels are provided. Washer/Dryer.

Toddy Pond is actually a nine mile long Lake located on the Blue Hill Peninsula. The area is steeped in natural beauty. Wild life, particularly birds are abundant on the pond. Sitings of eagles, osprey, loons, and a myriad of land and sea-birds are common place. Swimming, boating, fishing, too. Blue Hill is known for it's Kniesel Music Hall. Many of the gourmet restaurants feature live jazz and other music on weekends. There are several Art Galleries including the famous Leighton Gallery also in Blue Hill. MERI Eco-cruises are located there as well. Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park are a must on any visit to the area. Everything from gorgeous biking, hiking and equestrian carriage trails, whale watches, Island Cruises, and fun shopping awaits you there. Day trips can easily be made in almost any direction to Castine, Deer-Isle, Stonington, Belfast, and even 'the Other Acadia' on the Schoodic Peninsula. You should never lack for something fun to do.

History of Osprey Point: The cottage at Osprey Point was one of the original cottages on Toddy Pond. It has undergone several renovations including updates in 1995 and more recently in 2007. It is right on the water's edge and has the feeling of being on a boat from the screened in porch. Both sunrise and sunset can be viewed from the porch as well. It has a real sandy beach area and a nice new yellow swim float available. Osprey Point has one of the very few remaining 'boat-houses' still standing. It is a work in progress, but a real step back in time. Nostalgia abounds inside, too. Many of the objects on display are relics of our own childhoods. We kindly ask for references to book this gem.

We live in California, and love it, yet there are some things you can't have here, and a cozy cottage on a beautiful lake is one of them. So we traveled all the way to Maine, and had one of our best vacations ever at Osprey Point! Everything was so much more than we even expected, and we have always loved Maine. The cottage is very private, and Toddy Pond is incredibly beautiful. A canoe was provided, and we used it every day to paddle around the lake (it is much more a lake than a "pond," in our opinion!). We loved the cottage! It was very simple, brightly painted, and clean. We set up a table on the screen porch and had dinner listening to the water lap against the rocks underneath the window. Sometimes a loon would paddle by. The scenery was so inspiring, and we painted watercolors of our view. I normally don't like to get up early, but this was such a magical place, I found myself up at 5am taking pictures of the sunrise, and listening to the birds wake up. We also appreciated the library in the cottage, and all the other things that make staying in a family-owned vacation home so interesting and special. The owners were very helpful and nice, and we enjoyed being visited by Bonnie on horseback. Looking at the photos I took, I really feel homesick for Toddy Pond....I hope we can return, and I would definitely want to stay at Osprey Point again.

A beautiful place ! you can watch both dawn and sunset
on the lake from the same verandah.
Ideal for resting and relaxing, will come back again for sure
