Humacao Villa Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, best beach in Palmas, best reviews in Crescent Co

Exquisitely decorated, 2013 sq. ft., beachfront villa in the Crescent Cove complex in Palmas Del Mar, 200 yards from 2 miles of unspoiled, impeccably-maintained beaches.

Ensuite bathrooms in every bedroom provide for your and your traveling companions' privacy and convenience. With thousands of dollars in locally made, artisan-crafted rattan furniture, many original oils, giclées and serigraphs on the walls and maintained to a very high standard, this villa really is a second home, not the typical low-budget, short-term rental property -and our many guest reviews attest to that. Indeed, the two largest property management firms in Palmas consider our villa the best rental property in Crescent Cove.

Located on Puerto Rico's southeast shore (about an hour's drive from San Juan) Palmas del Mar is a sprawling resort consisting of some 2,750 acres on more than two miles of palm tree-lined beach. Set on a former sugarcane plantation, the resort is located on the Caribbean Sea, with the Island of Vieques to the east.

Palmas Del Mar is both a vacation resort and a sophisticated limited access residential community with many different home developments throughout with really just two developments -Crescent Beach and Crescent Cove - being truly beachfront.

Speaking of Crescent Cove, our regime was just the second 'villa or apartment' complex to be developed in Palmas and thus, it was situated in the best section of Palmas' almost two miles of beaches, partially protected from the prevailing easterly trade winds by Candelero Point. Between October and late March and as the prevailing winds are more northerly, our beach is usually calm, becoming a bit more 'sporty as the more normal Easterly trades start prevailing in late spring and summer. Because the beach is also semi-protected by a small reef just outside Candelero Point, there will be many days of the late Spring-to-Fall season where the beach just in front of Crescent Beach and Crescent Cove is the only swimmable area of the 2 miles of beaches inside Palmas Del Mar. And of course, beach lounges are available from the Crescent Cove staff for your comfort while beachside..

The villa's southeast exposure allows its penthouse terrace to be in shadow from mid-afternoon on, making it a lovely place to enjoy the stunning views of the courtyard, pool and beach area. That same southeast exposure provides a wonderful, natural breeze through the property that allows many to just shut off the A/C's, open the windows and sleep with the soft sound of the surf in the background....

Palmas Del Mar is located 50 minutes from San Juan making a day drive to San Juan a breeze. Palmas is also one hour from El Yunque -the Caribbean National (rain) Forest and Las Croabas where you can enjoy all sorts of day sails/outings to the many cays that dot the east coast of the island and the Cabezas de San Juan Bio-Bay.

In short, Palmas perfectly situated for you to enjoy almost all of what Puerto Rico has to offer without the mad hustle and bustle of San Juan proper. If you are looking to enjoy a relaxing resort atmosphere within one hour of Old San Juan and two hours from almost all the many attractions that Puerto Rico has to offer, Palmas will be as good as it gets.

If you are looking for fabulous golf, Palmas' two golf courses are considered among the finest in Puerto Rico. The old course - the Palm Course - was designed by Gary Player in the late Eighties and was updated in 2002. The front nine and back nine are totally different with the front nine being narrow & very technical -mostly an iron course- but with the back nine huge, wide open and long, with many elevation changes. Some holes have truly spectacular views of the beach and coastline with greens and tees 150 feet up from the beach.

The new course - Flamboyán - was designed by Rees Jones and finished in 2001. It is generally a long, difficult, wide open course with several long Par 4s and Par 5's that play directly into the teeth of what is usually a 15-20 mph breeze. I jokingly call #7 - a 540yard, slightly uphill Par 5 that plays directly into that wind- the only Par 6 in Puerto Rico. Trust me....make a bogey there and you will be very happy. ;o)

Besides fabulous golf, Palmas Del Mar has several miles of golf cart trails and walking paths, an equestrian center, 22 tennis courts and a fully-equiped fitness center.

The villa's bedrooms will sleep six and we can accommodate a 7th guest with roll-aways that can be placed in any room. With each bedroom's en-suite, you and your traveling companions will have privacy when desired and enjoy the villa's spacious common areas when mingling.

About Jose and Elena Galindez

Gaby, Elena and I lived in Puerto Rico until 2001 when worked forced us to relocate Stateside, where we live the Pacific Northwest.

Jose and Elena Galindez purchased this villa in 2006

Why Jose and Elena Galindez chose Humacao

We fell in love with Palmas way back in 1980 shortly after we first met and longed to live there while we worked and lived in Puerto Rico. We bought our first property in Palmas in 1997 and lived there until we relocated to the US in 2001.

The love of Palmas and Puerto Rico moved us to buy this property in 2006 and we have it to be our future home in Puerto Rico when I can retire sometime in 2015 or 2016

What makes this villa unique

Crescent Cove is one of just two truly beachfront regimes in Palmas -Crescent Beach being the other. Crescent Cove is smaller and more intimate then Crescent Beach and appeals to us for its smaller, more laid back atmosphere. The layout of the Crescent Cove villas is different: multiple levels versus a more traditional flat, single-level floor plan which gives everyone more privacy should one want that while one is staying there...

Perfect vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the villa to find it in excellent condition. Plenty of room in this spacious unit. The location is superb. Just steps to the beach and pool. The weather was ideal. Low 80's during the day and 70 at night. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. We have stayed here many times and can't say enough nice things about our experiences there.

Golf, tennis, sport fishing, fine dining, horseback riding are all available.

Gorgeous view, clean and comfortable villa, great value!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to Jose for all of his help with our first trip to Puerto Rico. The Palmas area is a wonderful area, and also seems to be a vacation spot for those who live on this beautiful island! The golf is spectacular. Villa is in a terrific spot for sight-seeing the rainforest and San Juan and Fajardo. After staying at other types of resorts, the pool was a breath of fresh air. No competition for seats! And everyone was friendly. Jose's villa is very nice and the artwork is inspiring. (Note that it does have a lot of stairs, if that's an issue for you.) It's not a newly remodeled home, but it's clean, a terrific value and a pleasure to deal with someone like Jose. Gracias, mi amigo nuevo! :)

Lovely Relaxing Quiet Condo

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely condo, location is beautiful, if you like to golf you will not be disappointed, many paved walking paths, very safe and friendly complex. Many grocery stores within 15 min. drive. Great beach bar short walk down the beach for relaxing and having lunch. Our pool was directly in front of the beach. If your a sunbather no problem for chairs, as many of the seniors that were there take the shady area. If you are looking for a nice, quiet place to relax with direct access to the ocean (yes you can swim here) this place is it, the beach is nice to walk along. Many locals body surf which was fun to watch. If you are looking for a Party atmosphere I suggest San Juan. Six of us enjoyed this condo, it was a good size the beds were comfortable and we did not need for anything, Jose was great in helping the men line up best pricing for golf carts and discounts for golf. If you had any issues Jose was great to make sure everything was looked after. There are many different restaurants to choose from in the Palmas complex this was fun, as many of the locals and other vacationers from other condos get together here for dinner, the marina was beautiful as well with their restaurant's. Many things to do in Puerto Rico, however we only visited San Juan. If you are considering Puerto Rico, I would not hesitate from renting from Jose he is very kind, thoughtful and really wanting your vacation to be a great one. This condo does over look the pool and the ocean just like in the pictures! I preferred here, rather than staying at the marina, no immediate beach access at the marina.

Thank you Jose for all your extra info that you provided re: directions from airport, to grocery stores, to restaurants to choose from and for helping the men line up a good deal with the golf!.

Many thanks and if we return to Puerto Rico again we will definitely be calling!....just wish the flights were better coming from Canada, as this was the only obstacle.

Beautiful condo

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time visiting PR, so we didn't know what to expect. After a very late arrival into San Juan and a bleary eyed drive to Palmas it was so refreshing to find such a comfortable and nice condo waiting for us. It's extremely clean with modern amenities. Everything just worked exactly as advertised from picking up the key, to wifi, to finding the beach bar. Rooms are spacious and well-furnished. The sun deck on the roof was a great place for watching the moon rise in the evening. And the deck off the main floor was perfect for coffee and breakfast while enjoying the sounds of the ocean. The Crescent Cove complex is very well maintained with a nice swimming pool and easy beach access. We got a friendly phone call from Jose on our first day just checking on us and helping us with any questions. It really felt like we were being taken care of. While in PR we loved our outings to hike the rainforests in El Yunque, paddle the bio bay at Fajardo, explore old San Juan, and go on an unforgettable caving adventure through AventurasPR. And I highly recommend planning a few days of relaxation in Palmas at the beach and in the harbor. Overall the condo was a perfect home to enable a great vacation in PR.

Great Christmastime Break!

  • 5 of 5

This was the first time we have traveled over the Christmas holiday and we picked PR because it was the closest place with guaranteed warm weather. We arrived at Jose's condo the evening of Dec. 26th very tired from the holiday and the traveling. Walking into the condo was a delight. Everything was as described and the condo was extremely clean (my daughters and I are VERY picky about cleanliness!) so we were happy! The condo has everything you need and Jose's instructions for wi-fi, water heater, AC, etc. were great. (picking up the key from the management company was kind of like being on the Amazing Race with all the lock boxes! It was fun and funny!) The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of shower towels as well as beach towels. The kitchen had all that you needed, including salt & pepper and spices. The view from the condo was amazing! And the small porch off the living room was great. We ate breakfast and lunch there every day.... just looking at the beautiful pool and ocean. All the amenities worked....... the TV, the Wi-Fi, the AC the hot water, the stove, microwave, etc. This was a great find. Also.. there is a lovely view of the ocean from the master bedroom which was a real treat to wake up to every day. The complex was also very clean and well maintained. The pool was lovely and not too crowded. Easy to find a chair any time of day. The beach was lovely as well..... and was where we spent most of our time. Loved the beach bar right down the beach from the condo. Really put us in the island mood! The weather was amazing! 85 and sunny every day!! And a beautiful breeze all the time.

The island was interesting. I had never been and did not really know what to expect. Palmas itself was lovely. Safe, pretty and very 'resort' feeling. We traveled to Rincon and Isabella on the northwest side of the island..... a long day trip, but doable. We also spent an evening in Old San Juan, which is great fun! Really cool place to walk around. We did the easy drive to the bio-bay which was fun and a different kind of experience. A lot of local flavor while waiting for the tour to start. Also, we ate at the burger place at the athletic center in Palmas which was a relaxing and easy dinner out.

Thanks to Jose for being such a great communicator and for calling us the first day to be sure everything was ok. I would recommend this condo for everyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing, fun and beautiful vacation spot.

Beautiful Condo - Perfect Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

Jose and Elena are amazing. They supplied us with all necessary information of what to do in Puerto Rico before we even got there. We enjoy adventure and sightseeing on our vacations as well as relaxing. The property is a stone's throw from the beach. The beach bar does have the best mojitos we've ever had as well as a great menu. There are plenty of restaurants in Las Palmas. Depending on what you like to do a car is necessary. We went to San Juan a few times (about an hour away) ziplining in El Yunque, visited the rainforest and went to Fajardo to do the nighttime kayak bioluminescence tour. The highways are good and for first time visitors we didn't have a problem getting anywhere we needed to. The condo is well maintained and decorated. It is super comfortable and makes you feel like you are home. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room. The concierge also was extremely helpful in setting up reservations for us as well as golf. Jose even called to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. If you're looking at visiting Puerto Rico and staying at Las Palmas I would only recommend this property.

Palmas Del Mar is Puerto Rico's fastest-growing, resort/residential community with over 3000 full-time residents and a thriving vacation ambiance. The property encompasses 2700 acres with 600 acres designated as wildlife preserve areas and has miles of walking, jogging and golf cart paths. Palmas Del Mar's beaches extend for over two miles and the best section of its beach is right in front of our complex and its sister Crescent Beach complex.

Palmas is 50 minutes from the fabulous shopping and 500 years of history of Old San Juan and one hour from El Yunque -the local Taíno name for the Caribbean National Rain Forest.

Several boat charters operate from the Palmas Marina offering half and full-day sails to Monkey Island and Vieques and Culebra -the Spanish Virgin Islands. The beach area just in front of Crescent Cove and its contiguous complex Crescent Beach just to the east is the best section of beach in Palmas Del Mar, protected from the most of the prevailing swells by a natural reef a quarter-mile East of the complexes. This reef is visible in the Google Map views I describe below. The villa has all the beach towels you will need and the Crescent Cove regime provides beach chairs/lounges for the complex's guests. Mid-stay maid/cleaning services are available. To see the villa's location, access Google Maps and search for Palmas Del Mar, Candelero, Puerto Rico. Switch to satellite view and tab the map right (east) and up (north) until the two U-shaped complexes come into view. Crescent Cove is the one with the pool closest to the ocean and our villa is in the 10th building on the left (southwest) leg of the U. The complex's Four Seasons Hotel and Casino is 300 yards from the villa -an easy 5 minute stroll.
