Overview

Humacao Villa Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, best beach in Palmas, best reviews in Crescent Co

Comfortable, exquisitely decorated, 2013 sq. ft., beachfront villa in the Crescent Cove complex in Palmas Del Mar, 200 yards from 2 miles of unspoiled, impeccably-maintained beaches.

Ensuite baths in every bedroom provide for your and your traveling companions' privacy and convenience. With many thousands of dollars in locally made, artisan-crafted rattan furniture, many original oils, giclées and serigraphs on the walls and maintained to a very high standard, this villa really is a second home, not the typical cookie-cutter, low-budget, short-term rental property and our many guest reviews attest to that. Indeed, the two largest property management firms in Palmas consider our villa the best rental property in Crescent Cove.

Speaking of Crescent Cove, if you are looking for a true beachfront location, Crescent Cove and our 'cousin' complex Crescent Beach which is located 300 yards further east are the only two truly beachfront regimes in Palmas Del mar. Being the first two such 'villa or apartment' complexes to be developed, they were situated in the best section of beach in Palmas, semi-protected from the prevailing easterly trade winds by Candelero Point. Between October and late March and as the prevailing winds are more northerly, our beach is usually flat-calm. As the winds shift towards the more easterly Trades in late spring and summer, our beach may not be flat calm, but there will be many days of the late Spring-to-Fall season where the Crescent Beach and Crescent Cove's beachfront really is the only swimmable area of the 2 miles of beaches inside the Palmas Del Mar grounds. And of course beach lounges are available from the Crescent Cove staff for you to take to the beach just a few yards away.

The villa's southeast exposure allows its penthouse terrace to be in shadow from mid-afternoon on, making it a lovely place to enjoy the stunning views of the courtyard, pool and beach area.

Renting through us and our on-site property manager Oceano Properties provides you nearly unlimited access to all of Palmas Del Mar's leisure and athletic attractions including Palmas Del Mar's award-winning Tennis, Golf and Beach Club facilities at significantly discounted rates. Golf carts, concierge services, all forms of meal and housekeeping services are available as well.

Palmas Del Mar is located 50 minutes from San Juan making a day drive to San Juan a breeze. Palmas is also one hour from El Yunque -the Caribbean National (rain) Forest and Las Croabas where you can enjoy all sorts of day sails/outings to the many cays that dot the east coast of the island and the Cabezas de San Juan Bio-Bay.

In short, Palmas perfectly situated for you to enjoy almost all of what Puerto Rico has to offer without the mad hustle and bustle of San Juan proper. If you are looking to enjoy a relaxing resort atmosphere within one our of almost all that Puerto Rico has to offer, Palmas will be as good as it gets.

If you are looking for fabulous golf, Palmas' two golf courses are considered among the finest in Puerto Rico. The old course - the Palm Course - was designed by Gary Player and was updated in 2002. The front nine and back nine are totally different with the front nine being narrow & very technical -an iron course- and the back nine huge, wide open and long, with many elevation changes. Some holes have truly spectacular views of the beach and coastline.

The new course - Flamboyán - was designed by Rees Jones and finished in 2001. It is generally a long, difficult, wide open course with several long Par 4s and Par 5's that play directly into the teeth of what is usually a 15-20 mph breeze. I jokingly call #7 - a 540yard, slightly uphill Par 5 that plays directly into that wind- the only Par 6 in Puerto Rico.

Besides fabulous golf, Palmas Del Mar has several miles of golf cart trails and walking paths, an equestrian center, 22 tennis courts and a fully-equiped fitness center -all accessible at guest of member rates.

The villa's bedrooms will sleep six and we can accommodate a 7th guest with roll-aways that can be placed in any room. With each bedroom's en-suite, you and your traveling companions will have privacy when desired and enjoy the villa's spacious common areas when mingling

About Jose and Elena Galindez

Gaby, Elena and I lived in Puerto Rico until 2001 when worked forced us to relocate Stateside, where we live today....in the Pacific Northwest.

Jose and Elena Galindez purchased this villa in 2006

Why Jose and Elena Galindez chose Humacao

We fell in love with Palmas way back in 1980 when we first met and longed to live there while we worked and lived in Puerto Rico. We bought our first property in Palmas in 1997 and lived there until we relocated to the US in 2001.

The love of Palmas and Puerto Rico moved us to buy this property in 2006 and we have it to be our future, permanent home when I can retire sometime in 2015 or 2016

What makes this villa unique

Crescent Cove is one of just two truly beachfront regimes in Palmas -Crescent Beach being the other. Crescent Cove is smaller and more intimate then Crescent Beach and appeals to us for its smaller, more laid back atmosphere. The layout of the Crescent Cove villas is different: multiple levels versus a more traditional flat, single-level floor plan which gives everyone more privacy should one want that while one is staying there...

Beautiful Condo - Perfect Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5
Jose and Elena are amazing. They supplied us with all necessary information of what to do in Puerto Rico before we even got there. We enjoy adventure and sightseeing on our vacations as well as relaxing. The property is a stone's throw from the beach. The beach bar does have the best mojitos we've ever had as well as a great menu. There are plenty of restaurants in Las Palmas. Depending on what you like to do a car is necessary. We went to San Juan a few times (about an hour away) ziplining in El Yunque, visited the rainforest and went to Fajardo to do the nighttime kayak bioluminescence tour. The highways are good and for first time visitors we didn't have a problem getting anywhere we needed to. The condo is well maintained and decorated. It is super comfortable and makes you feel like you are home. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room. The concierge also was extremely helpful in setting up reservations for us as well as golf. Jose even called to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. If you're looking at visiting Puerto Rico and staying at Las Palmas I would only recommend this property.

The property is beautiful and relaxing. The villa is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The location is great and accessible to all roads and highways. We had a great time and the owners actually took the time to make sure our stay was of the utmost comfort.

“Just Perfect:Palmas Style Beach Vacation”

  • 5 of 5
This villa is perfectly located! We loved the fantastic garden, pool, ocean and Vieques view from the balcony, master bedroom and rooftop terrace. The proximity of this villa to Palmas' main attractions, the pool and the beach was great. We enjoyed the pool attendants' service with our exclusive beach chairs and easy, 'next door access' to the Beach Bohio (best margarita and mojito in Palmas). The bedding and towels were of excellent quality. The whole unit was extremely clean and well maintained. We liked the artwork, stylish decor and sophisticated ambiance. The modern a/c system, flat screens, cable service, internet and kitchen were fantastic. In our routine, we included morning beach workouts, horseback riding, playing tennis, surfing, sipping sundown cocktails at the terrace, Full Moon BBQ dinners, playing at the cool round pool and lounging at the beach. Although we don't play golf we rented a golf cart to drive around the Resort and the Marina (evening breeze was perfect). We valued the security and privacy of the villa, the complex and the beach. The rooms were very comfortable with their own bathrooms and the space was nicely distributed at the three levels. We will definitely be back to this fabulous home. Our family loves Palmas and this Villa is the perfect place to stay and enjoy it even more.

This stay was just perfect!

We were totally impressed with the property. It was in a fabulous location, on a gorgeous beach. The pools and landscaping were very nice. The condo was beautifully decorated and appointed. We even got a call from the owner while on vacation checking in to make sure we were loving our stay. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone thinking of spending time in Puerto Rico!

Great Place, Great Location.

We had never vacationed in PR before, let alone Palmas, but we arrived with high hopes and expectations. I'm happy to say we weren't disappointed! Jose & Elena's condo is excellent. We were 6 guests: Mom/Dad, 3 big/athletic boys, and Grandmom. There was plenty of room, and even the 4th bathroom on the main floor was a useful bonus.
The A/C was totally sufficient, but most of all the view of, and proximity to, the ocean waves was the real plus. The only thing in the way of our condo and a 75 yard walk to the beach was a pool. So each morning we had this tough decision to make: Do we swim through the pool, or walk around it :)
As for the beach. It's beautiful. We found a bunch of sand dollars on the beach in the morning, and the boys used their masks to find more out on the outer edges of the waves. The water is warm and clear, and we could take body-surfing waves all day long! (which we did). There is also a bit of no-wave water, very clear, approx 100 yards to the north that is protected by a small reef. So you could grab a mask and float around there for more shells and stuff. (check out the herons in the shade of the palm trees).
Palmas was a great place to make for a base camp as it is safe, well groomed and landscaped. And the Galindez' place is about as good a vacation home as you could get.
Thanks Jose and Elena (and Gaby). We'll be back.

Exceptional Puerto Rican Sea Side Vacation Villa

  • 5 of 5
This lovely three-level fully air conditioned condominium is well located within a pleasant complex in the Palmas del Mar resort on the southeastern end of Puerto Rico. The lowest floor consists of a kitchen, dining room and living room with a great view of the complex atrium and the ocean. Everything, washer and dryer, furniture, appliances, video equipment, and internet access is first class. Nothing is of the expected upper end Caribbean Sea resort class. The second floor, with two bedrooms, has a master bedroom with an even better view and is equally well apportioned. Bedding, linens and towels are equal to the aforementioned furnishings. The upper floor with its bedroom has a splendid outdoor deck with a stupendous view of the complex enclosure and the sea.

The Crescent Cove complex is a U shaped series of similar condominiums with a swimming pool and easy access to the palm lined beach. The complex is well maintained and first class. The beach has a beautiful view and is impeccably clean. The Palmas del Mar resort consists of a series of similar complexes, a Wyndam Garden Hotel with an excellent restaurant, a casino, a beautiful golf course, and a sea side shopping mall.

The surrounding villages and towns are located between scenic hills and the sea. Each community has the expected small filling stations, good local cafes, bakeries and the like. Humacao, the largest nearby town, has many unexpected restaurants, shops and stores, many with identical brand names to those you would expect on the U.S. main land.

We have to mention the excellent support by both the Crescent Cove complex and the Oceano Beach Resorts management teams. Early on we experienced a very serious nearly disastrous accident. When we asked for assistance, the managers were on spot, informing the facility on-call medical doctor (who attended to us promptly), providing directions to the nearby Ryder Hospital and in general making that emergency less of a disaster. Following our return from hospitalization in both Humacao and San Juan, they were equally supportive making our remaining days and the follow on trip to the airport manageable. The resort and complex are well managed and quite secure.

We are veterans of sea side vacation resorts in the Philippines, Hawaii, Venezuela, Portugal, Spain, Florida and Mexico. This roomy condominium, within its complex and surrounding resort, is worthy of our recommendation.

Palmas Del Mar is Puerto Rico's fastest-growing, resort/residential community with over 3000 full-time residents and a thriving vacation ambiance. The property encompasses 2700 acres with 600 acres designated as wildlife preserve areas and has miles of walking, jogging and golf cart paths. Palmas Del Mar's beaches extend for over two miles and the best section of its beach is right in front of our complex and its sister Crescent Beach complex.

Palmas is 50 minutes from the fabulous shopping and 500 years of history of Old San Juan and one hour from El Yunque -the local Taíno name for the Caribbean National Rain Forest.

Several boat charters operate from the Palmas Marina offering half and full-day sails to Monkey Island and Vieques and Culebra -the Spanish Virgin Islands. Between November and April, our wahoo (ono) run compares to that in the Bahamas, with fish available 2 miles offshore. Palmas hosts 2 championship golf courses designed by Rees Jones and Gary Player, a casino, equestrian center, SCUBA charters, a dozen restaurants and 22 tennis courts all within the resort's grounds.

Notes:
The beach area just in front of Crescent Cove and its contiguous complex Crescent Beach just to the east is the best section of beach in Palmas Del Mar, protected from the most of the prevailing swells by a natural reef a quarter-mile East of the complexes. This reef is visible in the Google Map views I describe below. The villa has all the beach towels you will need and the Crescent Cove regime provides beach chairs/lounges for the complex's guests. Mid-stay maid/cleaning services are available. To see the villa's location, access Google Maps and search for Palmas Del Mar, Candelero, Puerto Rico. Switch to satellite view and tab the map right (east) and up (north) until the two U-shaped complexes come into view. Crescent Cove is the one with the pool closest to the ocean and our villa is in the 10th building on the left (southwest) leg of the U. The complex's Four Seasons Hotel and Casino is 300 yards from the villa -an easy 5 minute stroll.
