Elegant, comfortable, totally refinished 3-bedroom, 3.5 bathroom beachfront villa in the Crescent Cove complex in Palmas Del Mar, located 200 yards from the best section on beach in Palmas. Each bedroom has a private, ensuite bath. The villa has a desirable southeast exposure which allows its 240 sq ft penthouse terrace to be in shadow from mid-afternoon on.... the perfect place to enjoy the stunning views of the courtyard, pool and beach area. We purchased the property in June '06 and extensively remodeled it, installing new AC units with anti-allergen filters, new living and dining room sets, linens, new bamboo curtains, paint, lots of new art, several light fixtures & many other upgrades. The kitchen was fully remodeled in April '08 including new cabinets, granite countertops and all new SS appliances. In March of '09 we purchased two new flat-panel TV's so that the villa now has a total of 3 flat-screen TV's. We also upgraded the cable TV channel line-up.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rates do not include a 7% Puerto Rico Hotel and Rental Property Occupancy Tax.
  • Retuning guests will note that I dropped our published prices recently. During '07 and '08, I had higher prices posted here on HomeAway, but then always provided rather substantial discounts during the inquiry process. Looking back at this practice, I realize that the higher published rates might have been driving potential guests to other properties, hence, I am dropping our published rates to what we usually discount to and subscribe rentals for.

    Rates include all pre and post occupancy cleaning fees. Maid or other intra-stay services are extra cost items. Special rates in effect from August 15th to September 30th do not include Labor Day weekend. For the Labor Day weekend, the normal off-season rates apply.

  • 15% deposit up to $500.00 mailed to our home address in Beaverton, Oregon is required to confirm your reservations. Deposit is fully refundable up to two weeks before your occupancy date. We do not charge a security deposit.

    Marsters realty recently instituted a 5% surcharge on all balances paid via credit card so consider the use of checks or money orders as an alternative should you have any open balances when you arrive to collect your keys.
    Special rates are always in effect from mid-August to late September, the peak of the Caribbean hurricane season. While many people are concerned about the threat of hurricanes, Puerto Rico is hit on average once every 11 years -much less often than the Bahamas, Florida or the Mexican Riviera. Thus, if you can only travel in August or September, Puerto Rico is the safest bet you can make.

  • All bedrooms have private, ensuite bathrooms and balconies accessible via sliding doors. The Master bedroom has king bed, a walk-in closet, and powder area with two sinks. The second bedroom is located at the same level as the Master bedroom and the third bedroom is located on the third (penthouse) level opposite the 240 sq ft open-air penthouse terrace. All bedrooms have bamboo curtains with roll-down opaque blinds for privacy. The master and second bedrooms have flat-screen TVs with cable, one with integrated DVD. Notes: The beach area just in front of Crescent Cove and its contiguous complex Crescent Beach just to the east is the best section of beach in Palmas Del Mar, protected from the most of the prevailing swells by a natural reef a quarter-mile East of the complexes. This reef is visible in the Google Map views I describe below. The villla has all the beach towels you will need and the Crescent Cove regime provides beach chairs/lounges for the complex's guests. Mid-stay maid/cleaning services are available. To see the villa's location, access Google Maps and search for Palmas Del Mar, Humacao, Puerto Rico. Switch to satellite view and tab the map right (east) and up (north) until the two U-shaped complexes come into view. Crescent Cove is the one with the pool closest to the ocean and our villa is in the 10th building on the left (southwest) leg of the U. The complex's Four Seasons Hotel and Casino is 300 yards from the villa -an easy 5 minute stroll.

The best golf in Puerto Rico: Palmas' two golf courses are considered among the finest in Puerto Rico. The oldest course - the Palm Course - was designed by Gary Player and was updated in 2002. The front nine and back nine are totally different with the front nine being narrow & very technical -an iron course- and the back nine huge, wide open and long, with many elevation changes. Some holes have truly spectacular views of the beach and coastline. The new course - Flamboyán - was designed by Rees Jones and finished in 2001. It is generally a long, difficult, wide open course with several long Par 4s and Par 5's that play directly into the teeth of what is usually a 15-20 mph breeze. I jokingly call #7 - a 540yard, slightly uphill Par 5 that plays directly into that wind- the only Par 6 in Puerto Rico. The back nine has another memorable Par 5, a 560-yarder which plays downwind and downhill.....it's fun to hit 280 yard drives here...

Do I rent a car or not?: Quite a few people ask me 'what's the best way to get to Palmas Del Mar from the San Juan Airport?' and 'do I need a car?' The answer is 'it depends if you want to just stay in Palmas the whole week or venture outside of Palmas to visit the rest of the Island', because financially, it's almost a toss-up between a car and an airport shuttle. Most shuttles that service Palmas Del Mar charge $20 a head to pick you up in San Juan International and take you to Palmas. Hence, a family of four should expect to pay $160.00 for the round trip to and from the airport to Palmas. But, a full-size rental car thru Orbitz or Travelocity will be $225 to $275 a week, plus it will give you flexibility to travel around the Island or make day trips to Old San Juan, the rain forest, the Bacardi distillery in Cataño and restaurants outside Palmas such as El Isleño in Cupey and El Tenedor in Juncos. We always rent a car while we are there and enjoy the flexibility it gives us.

The villa was absolutely the best we have stayed in during our world travels. We had our two daughters (35 & 33) and three grandsons (12, 9, & 7) with us on this vacation, and the villa provided time, space and enjoyment for all. The location was great, and we all enjoyed the pool and beach. We had no problem getting from the airport to the villa, and actually got to enjoy traveling around the Island in the rental van.

The villa, itself, was set up to accommodate this size of family, and we were never stepping on each other during our stay. Our daughters and grandsons "loved it"!!!

We would love to plan another trip to PR, and would definitely rebook with Jose and Elena. It is apparent they take great pride and pleasure in maintaining their Villa.

Fantastic Villa in Puerto Rico

We stayed at this lovely Villa in June and absolutely loved it! It is spacious, well-maintained, and large for a family. Steps away from the pool and ocean. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book this rental again in a heartbeat!!

Best value for your dollar!! Spectacular views of the ocean from the front rooms!! WE were very pleased with the property owners and their assistance before our arrival. No hassles at all!!

We have stayed at several condos in the past, but we all agreed that this was the BEST!!

Great Vacation in a Lovely Setting

Our experience in Palmas Del Mar was just wonderful. An easy drive from the airport in San Juan, we were happy to find such a well appointed condominium. Although, Jose and Elena provide many pictures of the property, they can never tell the whole story.

Being two couples from NY, we were looking forward to a quiet, relaxing vacation in February. We were not disappointed. The condominium was clean and located in a very convenient area of Palmas del Mar. The beach in front of the villa was just beautiful. We rented a golf cart for the week and visited some of the other beaches but always came back to ours.

There were several restaurants on the property that we frequented and stopped into the casino on occasion. In addition, there are many activities in the area. It was a short drive to El Yunque – the Rain Forest, where we went on a hike to La Mina Falls, and followed that up with a swim at LUQUILLO Beach.

I hope to have a chance at a return visit. But if you anticipate visiting here you should make a point of staying at Jose and Elena Galindez's villa.

Wonderful Vacation Villa

Our family spent 15 days in this fantastic villa and enjoyed every minute of it. Our party included 2 adults, 3 children (13,10,and 3), and 2 seniors (77 and 75). The villa was spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. You feel as if you are in a model home. It was well stocked with towels, pillows, and kitchen necessities. The terrace and balcony are great and provide a wonderful view of the ocean, pool, and resort grounds. The description provided on the website does not exaggerate at all. This villa is perfect and you notice it as soon as you walk in the foyer.

Palmas Del Mar is a spectacular resort that is well maintained and has a friendly staff willing to provide directions or recommendations. It also has many good restaurants and a plaza for strolling.

The owners of this villa are the best. They were caring and attentive to our needs. They contacted us to provide information regarding a possible tropical storm and continued to track the storm and upate our family. The storm missed us but the owner's kindness did not. They are wonderful and honest people. We will gladly stay at this villa in Crescent Cove again and will highly recommend it to our family and friends.
