Pride in ownership is reflected throughout, including solid cedar arched doorways that lend access into magnificent ocean view rooms throughout the unit. The resort is set on over 80 acres of unspoiled lush landscaping, just a short stroll down the hill to the 1 mile othe pristine, private cobalt blue sand beach (Playa Azul). The resort is approximately 1 hour drive to Tamarindo! Just a short drive to surfing in Marbella! White sand beaches are within walking/driving distance. There is a main pool and Jacuzzi within the resort, as well as a large pool and patio area adjacent to the condo for more privacy and relaxation. Condo is fully equipped with all amenities. Guests may access all resort amenities as well. Owners will provide more 'inside information' about the area, activities etc. upon booking!

  • all rates include local fees and government taxes
  • Rates include local fees/taxes. A cleaning fee of $85.00 per week is also required for daily cleaning or $45.00 for exit only cleaning. For guests staying a minimum of 6 nights, a golf cart is also available for an additional $75.00 per week.

    Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to confirm reservation
    Deposits will be applied to vacation rental total

    Balance is due 30 days prior to check-in.

    Cancellation Policy: 60 days or more - 50% deposit non-refundable
    -Less than 60 days prior to arrival - NO REFUND

    Payments are arranged directly with owner. U.S. money orders, U.S. personal checks, U.S. cashier's checks or wire transfers are accepted.

    Guests will check in with the Sanctuary Condominiums Office. You may use choose to leave a credit card imprint with The Sanctuary Reception Office for 'incidentals', restaurant charges, tours etc. during your stay.
    You may settle your account after checking out with the Condominium Office.
  • We also offer a nightly rate of $150.00 per night for stays less than 6 nights.

Notes: You will find everything you need for a relaxing, unique vacation experience in our home-away-from home condominium! Staff is friendly and helpful, and are available to assist with questions, tours, etc. They are available to provide any 'incidentals' that you may have left behind! Kitchenette is located in guest bedroom also! A rental car is highly recommended so that you may explore the surrounding areas/activities. Transport to/from the airport can be arranged. Tours typically provide own transportation. Owners will provide 'inside information' about people to see, places to go, restaurants, local activities etc. upon booking! Cell phones are available for rent in Costa Rica, however the (relatively remote) location of the resort only allows connectivity in some 'spots'. Internet is available in the Resort reception office. Wi-fi is available just outside the reception area...with your own laptop!

The condo was as advertised: clean, well-maintained, two nice master bedrooms w/full baths. The pool by the condo was almost always empty, but we went to the main pool due to the shade and bar. The formal restaurant was good, not great.
But...we were told the beach was safe for swimming but we didn't dare go in; we rented the golf cart but it could not keep a charge. The worst part was that no matter where we wanted to go, it was a project - roads leading to the resort were horrible and it took forever to drive anywhere.
We wanted to avoid touristy places but did not enjoy being this remote. If you want to get away and have peace and quiet, enjoy the pool and stick close to home, this is the place.
Owner's Response: Serenity, tranquility and adventure are all part of this Costa Rican experience. This luxurious condo is located within the Sanctuary Resort and Spa property....it is private, quiet and serene. Costa Rica is an adventure; many roads are unpaved which is part of the experience. We enjoy the privacy of the condo pool as well as the waters of the Pacific on each of our visits. Both are safe and welcoming to the average visitor and offer opportunities for relaxing and viewing magnificent sunsets.

The surrounding villages (within 15 minutes or so of the resort) offer a variety of restaurants and activities that we also enjoy when we visit this natural environment.

Tours are available through the reception desk, and there is a guest book with activities in the condo should you chose to explore on your own. Additionally, there is a tour operator on-site who offers fishing, diving, turtle viewing and many other excursions.

Being between Costa Rican jungle and the Pacific makes this resort a mecca for howler monkeys, iguanas and other native wildlife.

Truly a one-of-a-kind experience that is not to be missed!
