October 09 Visit

Overall nice stay. Outside was a little disappointing, not as nice as the photos. The inside was very nice-beautiful kitchen, great flatscreen tv, bathroom was beautiful! House was very warm.
We had a nice stay, and took a day trip to bushkill falls, which was not too far, and really beautiful.
Exterior of home was overgrown and dusty. Did not really affect us because we went when the weather was a bit colder, and spent a good amount of time away from the property during the day.

Overall, nice inside, outside could use some sprucing up.

June 2009 Stay

Catonsville Catonsville, MD, USA
Review Submitted: August 11, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Pros: The cottage is nicely updated and equipped, and the owner is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are bright and airy. The property has its own floating dock, and the area right on the river is all asphalted - a plus if you are a serious boater and fisherman. It is close to Easton, PA which is a wonderful little town with lots of restaurants, shopping, and parks. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is not very far away; the New jersey side is especially beautiful.
Cons: The area right on the river is all asphalted, as mentioned, so it is not very appealing or scenic. The grounds have been somewhat neglected although the owner apparently has plans for sprucing it up. The biggest negative is that an extremely busy road passes right by the cottage.
Summary: A nice place to stay and very convenient. Great river access. Not the place to go if looking for total seclusion.

Bachelor party weekend

The_Todd Sunbury, Pennsylvania
Review Submitted: October 10, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We were a group of 20 something guys celebrating our buddy's last moments as a single man, and this house was absolutely PERFECT! Plenty of room to sleep everyone that came. Apon arrival the place was immaculate, having the look and feel of both a hi-tech "bachelor pad" and still seeming to have the feel of a romantic getaway cottage. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the cottage, the view, and such a peaceful atmosphere. None of us could get over the size of the refrigerator, or the amazing home entertainment setup, or simply how comfortable the place was.

The owner has a binder assembled full of attractions, restaraunts and other amenities in the area, along with a handful of delivery menues, so nobody went without food.

We gathered from five states not including a friend from Jamaica, so the ample parking was very nice to have. A relaxing and very peaceful spot to just sit and talk on the covered porch overlooking the river, both at night and while drinking the morning coffee.

Travel time was not an issue for us with the places we visited while in town, since we all traveled 2 or more hours to get there, 20 minuts was not a big deal at all. Very little traffic on the road made the drives quick and easy, and we werent disturbed by passing cars at all.

This house was the site of a great party weekend with lots of fond memories, and also the place where a few new friendships were made, I personally only knew two of the people in the group and am now great friends with everyone, we're all already talking about having a relaxing "ruinion" type get together sometime when we can hopefully stay at the river house again.

None of us will ever forget our stay here, or the address of the "used car lot on the delaware" (the nickname we gave the cottage because of all the cars we had parked on the upper and lower parking areas.

weekend getaway

Review Submitted: August 26, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
perfect romantic getaway.. not much very close by besides the beautiful water and a nice hiking trail (and bar/restaurant across the street). other then that it was about a 20 minute drive into town. we didnt mind it much because we liked waking up and doing nothing but laying out and walking the trail and sitting on the pretty deck all day until it was time to go into town for a nice dinner. the only downfall was that it was on a main road and you do hear the traffic at night from the masterbedroom (not really enough to bother us). bring movies as there is a great flat screen tv and dvd player in the living room! perfect for couples that want to get away and spend time alone! the water was so clean and the house was impecable as well!

June'08 Stay

___ CA
Review Submitted: July 21, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
My extended family stayed at the Delaware River house this June and it was just perfect. Best memory: watching the river at sunrise and seeing big fish jumping out of the water. House was very comfortable and clean. There were lots of spots in the house and grounds to sit and either visit or be private. Kitchen and bathrooms were very up to date and nicely furnished. The separate bedrooms gave privacy from our noisy teenagers. Our favorite spot was the large covered deck overlooking the river; it was perfect for morning coffee, snacks, reading, picnic dinners and watching the river life.

A very welcome surprise was that the house was only a few feet away from a shady and pleasant walking/ biking trail that was located on an old railroad grade. Another pleasant surprise was that Fruchtey Hill Road (cross street) turned out to be a beautiful country road with farms, deer, and horses AND was also a no-traffic shortcut to the Easton malls, stores, and restaurants.
