The entire western coast of Michigan sustains some of the best beaches in the country. Being free of salt water and constant tidal pulls may qualify them as THE best beaches in the country. In this area you will find striking dunes at Grand Mere and Warren Dunes, endless shopping at the Lighthouse Place outlet mall in Michigan City, Cherry and apple picking during the late summer and fall, Casino gambling at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo with one of the five largest gambling floors in the country (including Vegas) and the best gem of all, St Joe. The town boasts train service to Chicago, top notch ice cream and fudge shops (See Kilwins or South Bend Chocolate Co), Silver Beach and Silver Beach Amusement Park Museum, Rocky Gap, Jean Klock and Tiscornia beaches. Ski: Timber Ridge Ski Resort - This is a nice hill about an hours drive from St. Joe Swiss Valley Ski Resort - We have never skied this property. Looks great for beginners.
