Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Historic, 2-story Row House offers spacious 1200 square feet of living space, 2 bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a fold-down sofa in the living room.

This is a historic building and normally to get in to historic building you have to climb flight of stairs to get in. Once you get in to the building we have the living room on that level and there are stairs inside the unit to go down to the first level where are two bedrooms and bathrooms. The unit also features outdoor seating in a small courtyard.

Gracious living-dining area for charming family meals and entertaining. Very nice modern decor with hardwood floors and nicely equipped kitchen. Off-street parking available for $20/day (maximum is a full size car). Free Wireless/Wired DSL for your convenience.

Our house is in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, right of 16th Street NW, few blocks from the White House and the National Mall. In this vibrant, cosmopolitan neighborhood, you will find some of the city's finest museums and historic homes as well as an array of ethnic restaurants, unique bookstores, and Washington's largest concentration of private art galleries. This perfect location provides many walking destinations including the White House, The National Mall, The Textile Museum etc.

There are two Metro Stations nearby our condo - Dupont Circle which is pretty close as well as U Street. Both within walking distance about 10 minutes. Public transportation is very easy and safe, so you will be able to get everywhere by walking or Metro.

About Property Owner

We are family owned and operated. From the left meet Kate and Jarek (sister and brother) and our mom Dana.

We have lived in Washington for over ten years and love this cosmopolitan city where people get up every morning and get to work on changing the world. The most powerful people in DC can alter the course of history and try to make the world a better place. It's a city where philosophical debate and advocacy of issues beyond one's own family or pocketbook rule the day; a city where what's going on in one's head is far more important than what one is wearing; a city where people come from all over the world to experience democracy and learn the principles of our free society.

We get visitors from all over the country and the world. Some come for one time visit with their family, others keep coming back number of times a year as we host many repeat guests related to the federal government, foreign embassies and the US State Department. We take great pride in having our unit very clean (our mom cleans it, so you know it’s spotless), conveniently located within walking distance to all shopping, restaurants and Metro.

Situated in the heart of the city is the tony neighborhood of DuPont Circle. Located in a section of Washington called 'Old City', DuPont Circle is a traffic circle, neighborhood, and historic district. A number of historic homes can be found throughout the area, including the post-presidential residence of Woodrow Wilson. DuPont Circle is a known destination for fine dining and entertainment.

This cosmopolitan neighborhood includes an eclectic collection of shops and trendy restaurants that draw visitors young and old. Originally populated by Washington's old money and nouveau riche, DuPont Circle is now home to artists, intellectuals, and young professionals. Turn-of-the-century mansions and brownstones—once home to some the city's most prominent families—now house some of the nation's finest art museums, hippest restaurants, quirky shops, and foreign embassies. It is also home to the Phillips Collection, one of the city's foremost art museums featuring paintings by Renoir, Degas, Cezanne, Picasso, and others.

Lovely Neighborhood, Great Location

We stayed in this Property for a week for a family wedding. The location is fantastic- the Metro is easily accessible and you are within blocks of the Circle and all its amenities. The neighborhood is so charming and I felt safe walking around at night with the dog. The apartment is very nicely furnished and it was great having a two-level set-up. It was also incredibly helpful having a washer and dryer for a longer stay. We had 11 people for Hanukkah dinner and the open floor plan accommodated everyone wonderfully. The bathrooms are beautiful but be forewarned that they are both on the lower level which can be a bit of an inconvenience for people who have trouble with stairs. Kate and Jarek were terrific to work with throughout the whole process. Our first morning there, the fire alarms inexplicably went off and then would not stop chirping. Jarek came over and took care of it promptly. I highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to rent it again on future stays in DC.

2nd visit to Swann St. just as nice!

As predicted, we have returned to Swann St. to visit our daughter who is in college in DC. We had all we could ask for in the lovely accommodations there. The neighborhood is safe and charming with many restaurants and stores nearby. The apartment was just as before, so complete it was like a wonderfully thought out vacation home. We had Thanksgiving dinner (with help from Whole Foods on P St.) and were happy with the full kitchen for all those leftovers. The beds were great and the showers are as good as the other reviewers claim.We had an added treat in meeting Dinah(the owner's Mom) one day, so nice and friendly. It is such a advantage to have a home base where you can relax in the city.We were able to get taxis on 16th St. at all times of the day and night and walked to the U Sr. Metro several times. We enjoyed the historical markers along the way about the U St corridor and the African-American community's history. I have a feeling we will be back to Swann St. again. THANKS!!

Excellent property for two couples

This two bed two bath was in excellent condition with up to date everything in kitchen and baths. Bus to Capitol was quick and cheaper than the Metro so we did that for several days running. One block away is the bus stop for S2 or S4 that goes to Federal Triangle near the Capitol and Smithsonians. Lots of restaurants close by. We had a very nice stay and would recommend to friends for sure.

This being the first time we have tried VRBO, we were pleasantly surprised that the condo was exactly as described. From the beginning Kate responded quickly to all emails and helped us with info on the area. We found the condo centrally located to both bus and subway (which we used and would recommend in DC-very safe) based on another review we walked to the White House which was a great way to start the day. Having the washer and dryer was a big plus as we were on a 3 week multi destination trip. Poets and Busboys on 14th had great breakfast & coffee and we had to try Ben's Chili Bowl on U street. That's also a must. I would highly recommend Kate & Jarek's place to anyone visiting DC and if we find ourselves in DC again we will be back. Just can't say enough about this place.

The location of this property was awesome and due to some health issues, we needed a car. The ability to rent the parking space and not hunt for parking each day was invaluable. We vacation using VRBO all the time and this property is our favorite to date. Beautiful, clean, spacious and everything we needed!
