HISTORIC BOYER AVENUE-20 MINUTE WALK TO TOWN-LARGE SHADED YARD

Walla Walla Valley House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-6)

The Dog House Guest House is located on historic Boyer Avenue 5 blocks from Whitman College, 7 blocks from downtown Walla Walla (a 20 minute walk), and 3 blocks from Pioneer Park.

The 1911 bungalow house has been totally remodeled balancing the charm of a craftsman bungalow with the openness, quality finishes and conveniences of modern homes. The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood.

The house is a single family home set up for relaxing and entertaining with a swing on the front porch, an open living space that joins the gourmet kitchen and a large deck off the kitchen in the spacious fenced back yard. There are two bedrooms with queen beds plus two twin size convertible chairs (hide-a-beds) in the main living area.

We clean throughly after each visit. Many guests have commented on how clean the house is upon arrival even though we allow pets!

My husband and I love living in Walla Walla. Most weekends we enjoy biking, gardening, going to the Farmers Market and eating out. We both have lived in Germany and all over the US. We love to travel but always enjoy coming home to Walla Walla.

Andy Valentine purchased this house in 1991

I bought the house after moving to Walla Walla in 1989. It was a rental home after I moved to Germany in 1997 then was completely remodeled in 2008 to turn into a vacation rental.

The house is centrally located with only a short walk from the house to downtown. From the house you can also walk to Wildwood or Pioneer Park, go on great bike ride loops such as along Mill Creek, 5 Mile, and Russell Creek Roads as well as visit any of the nearby wineries. It is only a short walk downtown from the house to several tasting rooms and restaurants.

VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE

  • 5 of 5
This is a very well decorated, well stocked and clean stay. We enjoyed a walk to down town for morning coffee, close to beautiful Whitman College. Clean and well kept neighborhood.
Owners very accommodating.

PERFECT STAY!

  • 5 of 5
This is my favorite home away from home. Spacious, clean, centrally located. On our stay we had an unusually sunny & warm December day which allowed me to enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee in the warm sun on the spacious back deck. Felt like summer! OK, so I was wrapped in a blanket but still, the gracious back porch and yard in the sun in the morning is the perfect way to start the day!. Very well equipped kitchen, laundry and fun extras throughout the house. Definitely will come back agin!

CHRISTMAS STAY IN WASHINGTON

  • 5 of 5
Our family very much enjoyed our stay at this property in Walla Walla, it had all the comforts of a home away from home. Quiet residential neighborhood, close proximity to the downtown area, which had some wonderful local restaurants. Loved the yard, and the wood burning stove. Lots of excellent wineries in the area. We would definitely return here.

LONG-TERM STAY AT THE DOGHOUSE

  • 5 of 5
While I have stayed at the Doghouse several times in the past, my longest stay prior to this one had been a week. Having decided to take the plunge and move to Walla Walla, a longer-term solution was needed while working out permanent housing arrangements. As expected, the Doghouse was a perfect solution.

As the house itself is well-outfitted, it's perfect for a long-term visit. My favorite features include a well-equipped kitchen, newer washer/dryer, comfy beds with nice linens, plenty of closet space and, of course, the huge yard for my crazy dog. The yard and grounds were well tended the duration of my residence and the owners went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The tree-lined neighborhood is beautiful and the neighbors were friendly and welcoming.

I would not hesitate to recommend this rental for long or short-term stays. It has become my home-away-from-home and I will miss living here!

This is a great house and I would not hesitate to say again. It is an older house that has been completely remodeled with every modern comfort. Beautiful kitchen, yard, and great decorating. We were very comfortable staying here and had a very good time!
