PET FRIENDLY! WITH A FULL ONE ACRE YARD,inclosed with a chain link fence to keep Fido and the kids safe. Only minutes from the Great Cape May Beaches, Boating, Fishing, Golfing,and Great Restaurnts. This private, cozy 2nd floor cabin is only a short bike ride from the Cape May beaches and sits in the heart of the largest bird migrating corridor in the country. It has its own private entrance and on-site parking area. After a day of fun and sun, relax on the large deck overlooking this serene birdwatching paradise, throw a steak on the barbie, take a dip in the pool, or just read a book while your pet romps in his yard. After a night of dining and fun come home away from the hustle and bustle to a quit country surrounding for a peaceful sleep. And for your pet to enjoy his vacation, we have the Pet-Friendly Higbees Beach State Park.just down the road from us.

About Capt Frank

I was born and raised in Cape May, in 1937. I married Betty a Philadelphia girl that was working in Cape May, the summer of 1959, after she graduated from West Chester State Teachers College. We raised three boys and a girl, the oldest is Frank born in 1961, and the youngest is our daughter born in 1970.

I sailed as a Ship Master/Pilot with Texaco Oil from 1973 to 1993. I am presently working for an Oil Spill Response Organization, and still work as a Ship Master/Pilot of the Oil Spill Response Vessel, M/V Lynne Frink. My wife Betty is now retired. After teaching for over 30 years.

Having been born a raised here. I know anything and everything you would want to know about Cape May. I can recommend the best breakfast restaurants, casual restaurants, and fine dining restaurants in the entire area.

Capt Frank purchased this cabin in 1979
Why Capt Frank chose Cape May

When we bought this property. It was a small horse farm. My wife and daughter raised and trained quarter horses here. The cabin that you will be staying in, at that time was a hayloft. In the early 90s. My daughter lost interest in the horses to became a model and left for Paris, France.

The horses became too much work for my wife. So we decided to sell off some land and the horses. We then turned the hayloft into an apartment. Several years ago we decided to make a seasonal rental out of it. Because we are great lovers of dogs and know the difficulty in finding a place to stay that caters to pets, we thought it would be a good idea to develop a pet friendly rental.. We turned the original 1 acre arena into a pet friendly yard, and fenced it in with 4 foot high chain-link fence to keep your pet safe and secure.

What makes this cabin unique

I know the hustle and bustle of the summer season, and knew better than to buy a home in center town. You will find the area that we live in is quite unique. If you wish to go into town and enjoy a night out at one of our great restaurants or listen to some jazz, it is only 2 miles away. And when you have had enough we can simply come home to the quiet, tranquil country surroundings. During the day, we are only a short way down the road from the Pet Friendly, Higbee Beach State Park. As ours add states we are literally 2 miles from anything you would need. This includes golf courses, Party Boats, Whale Watchers, Power Sailng, Jet Skiing, and of course the great Wildwood Boardwalk with all its great amusements and attractions. If you would like to try your luck at the casinos of Atlantic City, they are only a 45 min. drive away.

Notes: This is a 2nd floor cabin which makes the deck very private. The rental has a full one-acre yard, fenced in by a chain link fence to make it very pet and child friendly. However we expect the tenants to closely supervised their pets and or children while they are playing in the yard. Although a car is recommended, we are less then 2.0 mi from just about everything, and there are numerous bike paths for bicycle commuting.

A Wonderful Stay!

This place was a great find! Frank and Betty were wonderful hosts and the cottage was perfect for us. It was clean, well maintained and had all the little extras. The location couldn't be more ideal...it is nearby to everything, but out of the hustle and bustle. The yard is fantastic and our furry baby loved every minute she got to spend in it.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Eden at less than 3 hours from NYC!

We, my husband, my two Pomeranians and I decided to have a break from the everyday stress. We were very lucky to find this paradisiac cottage! The garden is huge and my dogs have never been so happy! The home has everything you need including a washing machine and the owners who live next door have been so discreet that we thought we were alone in the neighborhood! Capt Frank replied however to any question we had, always with a great spirit and desire to please. The pleasure to wake up in such a quiet place is so relaxing... and the rooster and the goats somewhere around added to the charm of the place. Moreover, the lovely Victorian downtown of Cape May is close by with nice restaurants and great seafood, and the magnificent beaches all around at only 7 minutes by car made this trip absolutely unique! We came back reluctantly to New York City this morning, and the only idea to go back soon makes me feel happier.... I never thought that Eden was merely 3 hours from Midtown of New York City! THANK YOU so much for such a great time! Will be back soon...Sylvie and Yves

We were looking for a place to stay for four people near beach area and this place suited the best. For general reviews, I agree with everyone's comments below. House is clean, there is almost everything you need and cozy. The scenes are beautiful and this entire community is filled with history. If you're a historical person, you will love this area. Capt. Frank was very generous and helpful on our needs. It has a really large back yard that can be used for recreations or children and pets' playground. I am planning to visit here again in future years. All of our groups were satisfied with the place and experiences in Cape May. Thank you Captain Frank!

Great place to put up your feet!

What a great place to relax. Even our dog Duffy enjoyed himself. The house is situated outside of town just off the cannel and close enough to restaurants and entertainment of every kind. From Alpaca to sea gulls, whale watching, fishing and bird watching. You can't beat this location. The house is just the right size for one or two couples. It is clean and well kept. And the owners are onsite if you need anything and great to work with. We liked it so much we hope to be back next summer. If you're looking for a place down the shore but don't relish the crowds in town, this is the place for you.
Owner's Response: We love our home at 1010 ! It is such a pleasure to share our location with guests ! We enjoy meeting new and return guests and their pets, as well. We also like to enhance their time spent here by being able to answer all questions - directions, history, activities, and recommendations. It is especially enjoyable seeing dogs of every size and variety spend romper time in our fenced-in yard while their moms and dads kick back and relax.

We decided to go on a spur of the moment Cape May vacation for a family member's birthday and were very excited to stumble across the listing for Capt. Frank and Betty's place. The house and property are beautiful, and it's just a few minutes ride into the heart of historic Cape May. Our dog enjoyed herself very much playing in and roaming around the huge 1 acre yard and chilling out on the deck. We also made use of the bikes to ride down to nearby Higbee Beach. There's plenty of space, a fully equipped kitchen, and the rooms are all clean and comfortable. We've been going to Cape May for years but have never had such a great experience as we did here, at such a nice place, close to town, so affordable, and to be able to spend it all with our dog. We will definitely be back again :)
