Manuel Antonio Villa Rental Photos and Description
5 master suite bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, sleeps up to 12
Villa Perezoso is the gem of Manuel Antonio. Awarded Best Vacation Rental in Manuel Antonio for 2011 and 2012, recipient of over a hundred five-star guest reviews, and featured in Su Casa and Ocean Home, Villa Perezoso promises a Costa Rican getaway you will talk about for years to come.
Boasting a full staff—including a personal chef, a bartender, housekeeping, and an on-site concierge—Villa Perezoso combines the luxury amenities of a five-star resort with the privacy and personalization of an intimate vacation rental that’s wholly yours.
A wall of glass at the front of this five-bedroom, six-bathroom villa ensures that every room faces the lush Costa Rican jungle and the boulder-studded sea. Because the villa is situated on a tropical hillside at the edge of Manuel Antonio National Park, guests regularly spot monkeys, toucans, and the sloths from which Villa Perezoso gets its name.
You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy this dynamic setting, because all gourmet meals, cleaning, tour booking, grocery shopping, and even transportation are taken care of by Villa Perezoso’s prized staff.
Villa Perezoso’s chef, Ober Arroyo, was professionally trained in Madrid, Spain. When you arrive, Chef Ober will meet with you to plan the menu. He is more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Or just let the chef work his magic—his signature dishes include paella and tres leche cake.
Victor Porras, your 24/7 concierge, is a Costa Rica native and will help you experience the best of your surroundings. Many guests don’t leave the property, and we don’t blame them. However, if your group is eager for excursions, you can zip-line or raft down a river through the rainforest, or take it a little easier and walk down to the beach or nearby café. Whatever your choice, you won’t need a car—Victor will take care of all the transportation details for you.
Every room in the 6,000-square-foot Villa Perezoso features handcrafted furnishings and accessories from Bali, such as solid hardwood furniture and vibrant fabrics—details that add to the feeling of luxury and immersion in total beauty. Most rooms also have attached terraces extending out into the jungle, with more than enough lounge chairs for your entire group.
Sumptuous, first-level lodging options include the exceptional Grand Master Suite, with its king canopy bed, yoga/meditation space, iPod docking station, flatscreen TV, air conditioning, and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide magnificent views of the jungle. Get even closer to nature by taking a book and a coffee onto the furnished private terrace. The en suite bathroom offers a private, glass-door shower, so you can duck under the spray and look out over the rainforest and the ocean.
Two more Master Suites also have private decks, air-conditioning, flatscreen TVs, docks for your iPod, ceiling fans, and large en suite bathrooms. One of these has a king bed, the other has two doubles.
On the second level, an open living space is fitted with floor-to-ceiling glass doors to keep the lush Pacific Ocean and Manuel Antonio National Park in view. These doors open up to a wrap-around terrace with a pool, cushioned Balinese teak lounge chairs, and outdoor dining table—all spots where wildlife are known to frolic. The living area provides ample seating, a dining table for 12 plus a bar, a gourmet kitchen where Chef Ober crafts his epicurean delights, a large full bathroom, and an air-conditioned entertainment room with three additional sofas and 42-inch plasma TV.
We call the third level The Penthouse. This space houses two more master suites, plus a full living area with a second gourmet kitchen (a great place to fix a snack or a cup of coffee), and views of the Pacific extending from one side and the jungle from the other.
The fourth level—the Penthouse Loft and Sun Deck—is reached from a grand circular staircase and is encased in glass for 280-degree views. From the rooftop terrace, you can sink into the Jacuzzi tub with your signature cocktail and watch the sunset fade into a twinkling night sky. To experience the bird’s eye views of the sun terrace is to capture the essence of Manuel Antonio. We also recommend this spot for an in-house massage—Victor will help arrange one for you.
In short, the award-winning Villa Perezoso presents captivating views, gourmet meals, your own on-site personal concierge, and up-close-and-personal experiences with wildlife that you’ll never forget.

Seda Sejud purchased this villa in 2008
Why Seda Sejud chose Manuel Antonio
To us, Manuel Antonio is as close to paradise as it gets. Our dream was to someday live in a tropical haven, near the beach and somewhere not too far from 'home' (California). Having traveled nearly all the continents and vacationed on many of the worlds' best islands and tropical destinations, upon arriving in Manuel Antonio in November of 2003, we knew we had to live there someday. Not only was the place magical, the views heavenly, the beaches some of the best we've ever encountered but the friendliness of the people of Costa Rica, the emphasis on preserving their beautiful country, we knew when we arrived that we were hooked and that we wanted to make Costa Rica our next home. We found a gorgeous property with some of the best views we have encountered, bought it and started building. With Bali being another favorite destination of ours, we wanted to bring what we loved about Bali to Costa Rica--from the feeling of living outdoors to using natural materials and woods and stones to the top notch service they provide their guests. Our architect did a beautiful job taking our vision and in creating Villa Perezoso (named for the resident sloth), with every room having distinctive ocean and jungle views. We travelled to Bali to have all the furniture and accessories custom built for the property and had it transported to Costa Rica. It was a labor of love building it from the ground up and we love the finished product as do our guests.
What makes this villa unique
Simply stated, our staff. From our charming house manager/butler who always has a smile on his face and has lived in the area and worked in the hotel industry for over 20 years and who is here to serve you 24/7, to our world trained full time chef, to our favorite drink mixologist, and our never in the way sweet housekeeping staff, you will be pampered beyond your imagination. You will never have to lift a finger here at Villa Perezoso as we will do all the lifting for you! Whether it's to.... go food shopping, clean up, prepare and serve the most tasty, gourmet meals, to the drink making, to advice on the best activities or local culture, to running an errand or getting that extra bottle of rum, our staff will take care of it all. We also love that nature beckons right outside, I personally love the monkey visits and am always excited on seeing a 'perezoso' in the nearby guarumo tree. If I could pick out two of my favorite things about Villa Perezoso is 1) the staff and how they spoil us and our guests and 2) the openness of each of the rooms (especially the bathrooms with floor to ceiling glass doors that open up allowing you to shower looking out to the vast jungle and pacific ocean. Its a slice of paradise found. And, the wildlife that you will experience at the Villa will make you feel as if you were in your very own National Geographic movie!
Guestbook comments from the owner
“Villa Perezoso is truly a paradise, a hidden gem! We thought we were in heaven on the first day and it just got better everyday! We felt immediately welcome, as if we were royalty and family at the same time. There were 12 of us in our group–the Villa gave us all our space when we needed it, but was also cozy with many great sitting areas. The wildlife and views of Manuel Antonio beach and ocean make the atmosphere amazing. What makes VP truly above everywhere else is the friendly and talented staff. Victor takes care of every detail from arranging transportation, to settling up excursions, to calling ahead to places we are going. He is a consummate professional and made us feel special. Randall and Ober are also amazing and are responsive to your every need. We really appreciated when they shared with us how to prepare certain dishes and drinks, both for the adults and children. It was extra special the way they treated our children so kindly. We were astounded at how our sometimes picky eaters were willing to eat everything Ober cooked. It was also great to have Victor immediately available whenever questions arose. Cecilia does such a fantastic job keeping the place pristine to where you could eat off the floor, especially impressive with 6 children around. Ober is such an impressive chef, it’s hard to put into words the anticipation that built up before each meal. The pinnacle of the week occurred when we were working out how to get surfing lessons for our daughter. She had asked about surfing all week. When it was made possible for Randall to teach us, everyone became enthusiastic about surfing. Randall exceeded our expectations as his patience, skill and experience were on display. He was able to teach almost 10 of us how to surf. At the same time, he prepared us for the beach, carried the boards, served us between lessons and made it our favorite day here. So gracias, gracias, gracias!! We certainly hope to get back here again someday, it’s like nowhere else we’ve been! Pura Vida.”
