This is the upstairs unit for VRBO listing #102481 with the same great location on Front Street. It’s just one block away from the shops and café’s of bustling downtown Wilmington with a view of the Cape Fear River.

The apartment measures 900 square feet and has two bedrooms both with queen beds, one bath, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and a stackable washer and dryer. The apartment is also equipped with HD TV, a home theater system with iPod docking and wireless internet. You’ll be equipped to cook all you wish or you can stroll to many of Wilmington’s best restaurants within blocks.

You’ll be right up the hill from the riverfront favorites of Chandler’s Wharf, The Pilot House and Elijah’s. You will be 20 minutes drive from Wrightsville Beach, 30 minutes from Carolina Beach and 45 minutes from the beaches of Brunswick County. So take your pick and enjoy a day on the beach. Then come home to enjoy downtown Wilmington’s legendary nightlife. And you will not have to bother with a cab ride home; you are already there.

Of course there’s golf and the battleship. There is the Henrietta II and the water taxi. There are horse drawn carriages and policemen on horseback. There are rooftop bars, basement bars, sofa bars, sidewalk café’s, riverside café’s, sushi, etc., etc. So it is all here for you to enjoy and then return to a quite comfortable place to relax and recharge for another day.

Best value and location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The location is perfect for exploring Wilmington and partaking in the night life. We parked the cars when we arrived and didn't drive again until it was time to leave. We found everything we needed to cook several meals at home in the kitchen. The dining area and living room were plenty comfortable for 4 adults. We appreciated the Roku for watching a few movies. The beds and linens were very comfortable. Excellent value for a weekend away.

This place is so convenient to downtown and the historic, beautiful houses of Wilmington. We really enjoyed our visit, especially since we could bring our dog. We look forward to staying there again!

Great location!

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 kids (age 2 and 6). Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Wilmington and found alot of fun things to do. The condo was a good place to stay overall, mainly because of the location. Here's a breakdown of pro's and con's.

Pro's - The location is perfect, at least for what we wanted to do. It's a block away from the kid's museum, which we just loved. We were there for over 3 hours and our kids still didn't get to do everything there. The very friendly director of the museum was walking around meeting everyone and checking on the exhibits. It's also a block or 2 away from The Little Dipper, an excellent fondue restaurant. Just a few blocks away from many other shops and restaurants : The Peppered Cupcake on Front Street for amazing cupcakes; Front St Brewery for really good affordable beer and food; Wilmington Water Tours on the riverwalk for fun river cruises; and just 20-30 mins away from beaches and the NC Aquarium. The condo is also in a nice quiet area with other nice homes. There's the usual city noise like buses, etc but not late at night. The condo itself has very comfortable beds, soft sheets, lots of towels, nice artwork, working appliances, great A/C, a very comfortable leather couch, DVD player and nice theater system with Roku. Steve is also really nice to work with.

Con's: The condo could definitely use a good cleaning, especially under the beds and furniture. The rugs in the bedrooms were covered in dog hair and dander. Also, the smoke alarm wasn't working and since there's just 1 way out and it's on the second floor, this was also concerning and I would imagine a huge liability. These things are really very easy to take care of and I think they could greatly improve someone's stay here. It's an upstairs unit and the stairs open up to the main hallway and living area, so if you have really little ones, you'll need to bring a baby gate. Not the owner's responsibility - just a heads up if you plan on bringing small kids.

Great Location for Vacation

Steve was great to deal with whenever we needed anything. The location is great and very close to downtown (3 blocks). It is also only 1 block to the riverwalk. The house was clean and plenty big for our week vacation. We LOVED the cookware set and access to netflix. We felt very safe staying here and would HIGHLY recommend this location for any travelers. Thanks for a great place to stay Steve, we will be back.

Great location

I just finished a 3 month stay in this great apartment. Steve the owner was great throughout. If I had any issues he was very quick to respond and always very nice. Living downtown was great. Walking everywhere and especially to the many incredible restaurants in the downtown area was amazing. The view from the living room of the river was very peaceful. Parking on the street was also very convenient. In the three months I was there I never had a problem parking directly in from of the building. The entertainment system with cable, roku and sound system was a great bonus. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone alone or with a family for any length of stay.

GREAT LOCATION But needs TLC

STAYED FOR 5 DAYS BUT WERE CHARGED FOR FULL WEEK RATE, OWNER WAS PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH AND LOCATION WAS GREAT BUT THE HOME IS IN DISREPAIR AND DIRTY WE SAW SEVERAL LARGE PALMETTO BUGS AND WE WERE EVEN ASKED IF WE COULD HAVE THE OWNER STEVEN SHOW THE PLACE TO A "LONG TERM RENTER " WHILE WE WERE VACATIONING. IF YOU ARE looking for a great location this is it but the place needs a fair bit of TLC IT IS A LOVELY LOCATION BUT THIS IS MORE OF A BUDGET CONSCIOUS RENTAL RATHER THAN A HIGH END RENTAL, SO JUST BE AWARE OF THAT WHEN LOOKING TO BOOK

Owner's Response: I charged you the weekly rate because it was less than the amount you would have owed for 5 nights at the daily rate. If you will compare my rates to other area 2 bedroom units on VRBO you'll find that we are priced at the lower end of the scale, not the luxury end. When someone takes into account the savings of occasionally making their own meals, and keeping the family pet with them rather than sending it to doggie prison while they're enjoying themselves, they'll find that compared to a cramped and generic motel room these units are great values, as they are intended to be, and as the rates are intended to reflect. I asked your permission to show the property, you declined. End of story.
