nicer than it looks in the pictures
We were actually pleasantly surprised with the appearance of the townhome. It has nice tile, hardwood floors and pocket doors. The master has a nice bathroom with a glass block shower. We went with my parents so they slept in the room behind the garage. This room is a little cut off from the rest of the house. They liked the privacy and we were able to be close to the kids. However, I didn't find the garage room to be as cute as the rest of the house. It's still nice, it just doesn't have as much charm. (This setup would not work well for parents with several small children as you can't hear anything in the garage room. I wouldn't recommend this house if you have children who are crawling. The two staircases are hardwood and go straight down. Also, I wouldn't let my two year old on the lower deck because she could easily fit under or over the railing and fall. I thnk a few more boards might be a good idea. )
I did find they house to be lacking in some supplies. (I've been finding that a lot lately.) For instance, there were no kitchen towels, rags, or pot holders-just a sponge. We do a lot of cooking so this was a little tricky. Also the ice maker didn't work so we had to buy ice. It would be nice if all three balconies had chairs and maybe small tables.
The beach was very nice. The water is clear and you can see small fish everywhere. The road in front of the house is a little busy. I like a slightly more residential feel (but still like to be able to walk to restaurants and such.) It can be a little tricky pulling in and out of the parking lot. Once you are settled and using the patio doors, it's easy to forget about the busy road. We were looking really forward to frequenting the Whalestail, but unfortunately it burned down. You can only get drinks in the bottom part of what's left of the restaurant:(
Overall, we were very pleased with our vacation. Staying right on the beach is the best. We found plenty of things to do when we weren't swimming. The kids loved walking up to the ice cream shop, which is only a 5-10 minute walk. We had a good meal at Pompano Joe's up the street. We took a day trip to the Harborwalk Village. We took a boat ride to see dolphins and ate at Pat O'Briens, which is a cute replica of the one in New Orleans (although the original is still the best!) The kids loved getting ice cream here too, but it is a little pricier than other places around.
