The Studio-Flat is located on the fourth floor inside an historic building in Via del Boschetto 15, in one of the most ancient quarters of the city called Monti which is
a very central, safe and trendy area of Rome, five minutes walk from the Colosseum
and twenty minutes from the central Train Station.
We are surrounded by archeological sights, museums, shops, cafés, restaurants, internet cafés, laundrettes, garages (if you want to leave your car in a safe parking).
Also public transport is all very near.
The Studio-Flat is spacious and very bright with a balcony overlooking the picturesque street underneath.
To reach us in Via del Boschetto 15 and you arrive from Aeroporto Leonardo da Vinci, alias Fiumicino Airport, if you do not wish to take a taxi (40-50 euros), you may take the Leonardo Express train that will bring you to Termini train station in about 25 minutes (the cost is about 14 euros and you can buy the ticket at the kiosk).
If you come from Ciampino Airport, you may want to use the direct bus services which brings you to Termini (about 7 euros on board) and is much more straight forward than the bus-metro option or you can always take a taxi which is 30 euros.
When you arrive at Termini you can take bus number 64 and get off in front of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Via Nazionale. Cross the street at the traffic lights in the same direction the bus is going, cross again to the other side and a few meters on the right you will see Via del Boschetto. Walk 100 meters until you see a Minimarket on the left, we are right in front of it at number 15, it's a little black gate with ivy beside it.
If you wish to walk from Termini the easiest route is to take Via Nazionale from Piazza della Repubblica and then just follow the instructions above, it will take around 15 minutes.
My daughter and I stayed in Giggia's flat for five days in early June and it was the perfect base for exploring the city. The neighborhood is charming, safe and conveniently located near the Colosseum and Forum, Trevi Fountain, and many other sights. The flat is bright and airy and we enjoyed having the use of the kitchen. Giggia was very accommodating and friendly and I would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful time in Rome thank's to the great portent we rented from Giggia. Her flat is beautiful in spite of the 4 giant flights of steps. Close to the colosseum and major roads to get around. Close to metro and train/bus station. You get a cute balcony over looking the street. A great market just across the way. It was the perfect place to experience Rome. We would come back again. The owner is helpful and friendly. There are a lot of books and information on Rome in the apartment.
Gigia's place was perfect- cute and charming, exactly what I imagined for Italy!! Great location- close to the coliseum. Only thing- no elevator and its on the top floor but its a nice view from the balcony and great for the price!! I would stay here again!
Giggia's apartment met all expections and I look forward to staying there again the next time I am in Rome. My wife and I stayed about 10 days and Giggia was very nice and helpful. The apartment is very close to the Colosseum and Roman Forum (less than a 10 min walk). Which is where most people want to get started the moment they arrive in Rome. Just up the street you will find bus stops and restaurants and about 5 mins down the street you will be very close to the Cavour Metro station, so you can get to the far places in Rome and not have to actually walk a lot. Remember on those hot days to stop by the Beebop Gelateria at the very bottom end of the street. You will find an English speaking couple there that were very nice and offered amazing Gelato. Across the street there is a small supermarket, where I ended up going several times for snacks, breakfast items, and sometimes even dinner. Rome is an expensive place, but staying with Giggia and having the supermarket close by was easier on the wallet and it really helped us take part in many of the sites in Rome that require you to pay to get in. The apartment is located in a safe area and it requires 3 separate doors (with separate keys) before you get into the apartment. So you can rest assured your belongings will be safe. One thing to keep in mind is that the apartment is at the top floor of the building (4 floors, if I remember right). So pack lighter, most likely you will not end up using all the clothes you are bringing anyway. So the lighter you pack, the less weight you will have when you take your bags up and down the stairs upon arrive and departure. The size of the apartment was good and the bed was comfortable. I think staying here is perfect for couples getting away from their daily stresses back home. I recommend staying at Giggia's apartment. - Thank you for everything Giggia and helping us have a trip of a lifetime. :)
My husband and I stayed at Giggia's in May. We loved how close it was to all the sights and several good restaurants. It is in a quiet neighborhood, but again close to everything. The apartment is clean and comfortable. Giggia was a great host and was very helpful.
