Photos and Description of the Chepachet vacation cottage rental
1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 5

The cottage is lakefront and approx. 200 ft. from a Private Town Beach, with 2 lifeguards. It doesn't get any better than this! If you are looking for laid back, relaxing, and just plain, old fashioned comfort, this is the best spot on the lake. There is a large deck in front to enjoy the view, and front & back 3 season porches. The cottage was built in the 1940's by my grandfather, and we have completely renovated the whole house in the past three years. The lake is stocked with Trout by the RI- D.E.M., and is a favorite of Northwest RI fishermen. Located two miles from the cottage is Historic Chepachet Village, a quaint little downtown area, with Brown and Hopkins General Store, which is the oldest General Store in continuous operation. There are also antique shops and restaurants, laundry, a grocery store, and post office. It is also the home of the 'Ancients and Horribles Parade', which is the second oldest Fourth of July Parade in this area next to Bristol, RI.

Golf Amenities: Gloucester Country Club is located 3 miles east on Route 44. Further information can be provided if needed.

Riding Stables: Riding stables are located on Route 44 west of Chepechet Village, and more info can be provided if needed.

Wright's Farm Restaurant: Wright's Farm Restaurant is located less than 10 miles west of Chepachet Village on Route 44. It is an absolutely huge restaurant that specializes in home style family meals of rolls and butter, salad, roasted chicken, delicious macaroni and homemade sauce and crispy french fries that is all you can eat! Yes! They have banquet facilities and private rooms for family functions, a gift shop, and takeout. A great place to go. Telephone number will be provided. Reservations are recommended.

The cottage was every bit as charming as advertised and then some. The location was perfect and the owners couldn't be nicer. They even left us homebaked cookies and all the fixings for smoores - what more could you ask for.

Cozy Cottage

5 of 5
Submitted: January 8, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
Grandma's Cottage was a great place for us to spend Christmastime! We were looking for a rental close to our 3 daughters' homes in the area so we could visit them and have our own space to relax.....and it was perfect! The owners met us with a plate of delicious cookies when we arrived and were available by phone when we had questions. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay, even a little Christmas tree! It was very clean and well maintained. Photos and description were accurate. Cute decor. While we stayed there, we had a snowstorm but were all set with a shovel and broom to clear our car. The lake was beautiful, we watched the snow falling from the front porch window and walked our dog around the neighborhood.
We loved the old fashioned general store, grocery store, coffee shop, and pizza places, all close by. It was a 90 minute drive to Cape Cod. We were allowed to bring our dog, which was important to us. She had her own fenced in back yard to run around in. We recommend this property for a small family who wants to spend some time relaxing. Thank you and Happy New Year to the owners!
Owner's Response: We always enjoy meeting our new guests, and so glad we could accomodate these folks during the Holidays. Everything worked out perfectly, and we also thank our guests for keeping the home just immaculate during their stay! Glad you made it home safely.
We hope that we will meet again someday. Thanks again!

visiting family in RI

5 of 5
Submitted: October 11, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
This was my first time renting a cottage for a vacation to visit my family in RI and it was a wonderful experience. The cottage was just so quaint and wonderful to stay in and seemed so roomy and felt like being home. My husband, myself and our cousin stayed there for nine days and it was wonderful experience for us. We did a lot of running around while there visiting family and doing some sightseeing as well but I wish we could have spent more time at the cottage to take full advantage of the two grills (charcoal and gas) and the fire pit out back. The view is spectacular from the front window of the house and we just didn't want to leave. The owners of the property are just wonderful also. They make you feel like family and went out of their way to rush to the house the morning we were leaving because my husband had left his carry on in the house with his ID and everything he needed to fly. They rushed there to get the house opened for us so that he could retrieve his bag and we got to fly later that day and made it back to San Antonio. I can not say enough good things about the owners and the place. I highly recommend this cottage as a vacation home away from home.
Owner's Response: One of the best things about sharing our cottage with guests, is to be able to meet people from all over the world. We have been lucky enough to have met some of the nicest people, people that really care about our cottage and take the time to look around and explore it. The cottage was built by my Grandfather in the 1940's, and we have several pictures displaying his hard work to make it what it is today. You can just feel the love in it...and we try to make it comfortable for all our guests.
We felt so bad for our previous guests, that their luggage was locked inside, but we were so happy that they were able to travel on home together after all and everything worked out fine.

Great place

This is a great place if your looking to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Although it is off the beaten path you are close to a market, pharmacy and restaurants. the cottage is adorably decorated and nicely updated. If you have children, the beach is a great place to hang out for the day. The area is very quiet and the yard private and well kept. The owners, Rhonda and Dan, are very nice and easy to contact. They've made sure you have everything you need for your stay.
Owner's Response: We appreciate the positive review, and thanks for your kind words. It is our pleasure to make sure the house is ready to go and spotlessly cleaned for our guests. The house has to measure up to my HIGH standards, it has to be perfect! Nothing else is acceptible!
It was a pleasure to meet and talk to you! Glad your home safe and sound.

Incrediable!!!

My family visits RI every summer and our stay has been by far the best trip yet. My husband spent a lot of his childhood in Chepachet as his Grandparents lived only a few mile from the cottage. The cottage it's self is even more charming than this listing can put into words. Our family of felt right at home with everything we could think of being right there. My high energy children found the fenced in back yard the perfect place to run it off. Even when my youngest got sick, CVS was only a short distance away and we were able to deal with a teething 2 year old in no time. I loved the fact I could start my day with a cup of coffee on the front deck and watch the ducks swimming on the pond. It was even an added bonus for me to find almost every pond in the area covered with water lily's as they are my favorite flower. Everything is just a short drive away which made the cottage the perfect place for day trip to just about anywhere. The owners even have tons of brochures, so finding something to do was never an issue. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area. I just wanna thank the owners for such a wonderful experience, and I look forward to staying again on our next summer trip!!
Owner's Response: We are so glad that everyone feels at home and comfortable at the cottage. That is our goal, to bring back a little of the olden days, the way life used to be... a slower paced life, that in turn, makes people relax, and enjoy, and what can be better than that?
The cottage just has a comfortable vibe to it, people can sense it when they walk in.
We are also very lucky to have had the best tenants, people who really care about our little cottage, and take such good care of it for us.
Thank you for cleaning the cottage and doing all that laundry for us, it was very much appreciated, glad you had a safe trip home, we look forward to seeing you all again.
Sincerely,
Dan and Rhonda
