The cottage is lakefront and approx. 200 ft. from a Private Town Beach, with 2 lifeguards. It doesn't get any better than this! If you are looking for laid back, relaxing, and just plain, old fashioned comfort, this is the best spot on the lake. There is a large deck in front to enjoy the view, and front & back 3 season porches. The cottage was built in the 1940's by my grandfather, and we have completely renovated the whole house in the past three years. The lake is stocked with Trout by the RI- D.E.M., and is a favorite of Northwest RI fishermen. Located two miles from the cottage is Historic Chepachet Village, a quaint little downtown area, with Brown and Hopkins General Store, which is the oldest General Store in continuous operation. There are also antique shops and restaurants, laundry, a grocery store, and post office. It is also the home of the 'Ancients and Horribles Parade', which is the second oldest Fourth of July Parade in this area next to Bristol, RI.
Chepachet is also historically important, as it was the sight of the Dorr Rebellion, we have several books at the cottage in reference to this famous battle.
We also have some other books that are all in reference to this area of the country that have known to be haunted! The famous Lizzie Borden house in Fall River, MA, is just about 40 minutes away, I have to say, that that it is a very interesting tour, very informative and also said to be haunted! Give it a try..

Rhonda Faria purchased this cottage in 1940
My family has owned the property for this house for over 70 years. We have enjoyed countless family cookouts, swimming and just relaxing, or going to the famous Fourth of July Parade downtown.
Our own Grandchildren love the porch swings on both front and back porches...and I am sure my Grandparents would be so proud of all the updates we have made...with love!
Get away from it all, but your still close enough to grab your morning coffee from Dunkin Donuts, less than 1 mile from the house!
A little piece of Heaven!
The cottage was every bit as charming as advertised and then some. The location was perfect and the owners couldn't be nicer. They even left us homebaked cookies and all the fixings for smoores - what more could you ask for.
Stayed at the Cottage from late June 2014 to Sept 30 th. My wife and I are former Rhode Islanders and were looking for a summer rental in Little Rhody. This spot was perfect. Nice little cottage with a great view of the pond. Great location and extremely peaceful at night. Favorite restaurant is the Tavern on Main. ( formally the Stagecoach) This place is less than three minutes from the cottage. We also loved the Village Bean for Breakfast. I would recommend the cottage for a getaway any time of the year. We are back in Florida but plan on going to the cottage again next summer.
As for the owners ( Rhonda and Dan) I can't say enough. They met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the cottage. These are two down to earth people who take great pride in the cottage. They made us feel more than welcome. Everything we needed was provided. The cottage was extremely clean and you could see the owners pride throughout. Thanks again to Dan and Rhonda for providing such a nice place to vacation in RI. See you soon!!
Imagine being teleported from your home to a smaller version of your home with all the amenities of that home and you have Grandma's cottage. Fully furnished down to bottled water and S'mores. Go to sleep on a first class mattress and wake to drink coffee and eat breakfast overlooking the tranquil pond. Husband bought a fishing license and went across the street twice a day to fish while I drank wine and caught up on my reading! A great grocery and fish market made planning meals easy. Went antiguing in deceptively small fronted shops that went for miles once inside. Even took a day trip to Cape Cod. Had our greyhound Sadie with us and she loved long walks around the pond with her 'dad'. The vibrant colors of autumn just added to the picture- warm days and cool nights.
We had a very lovely time here! It was peaceful and relaxing and just what we needed! While not super close to the main attractions of RI, they were an easy drive away! The deck and fire place out back are enjoyable places to just "be". FYI the muffins and bakery at Dino's grocery were amazing! Thanks Rhonda for sharing your cottage!
Nice cabin in the woods with a great view of the pond across the street. Quiet place and very homey. Just love to stay there when we visit RI and hope to stay again. Owners are great and very friendly and kind. Make you feel like family.
This cottage was perfect for us. It was both cozy and spacious. The setting was beautiful and tranquil, yet close to many larger centers. We appreciated how well appointed it was, and the high standard of cleanliness. The owners provided just the right touch. They were available if necessary, but also respected our privacy. We were grateful for the warm welcome. We would recommend this to any travelers or vacationers.
Very centrally located, there is lots to do here, or just relax and do nothing at all! The cottage is 20 min. west of Providence, RI on Route 44; 20 min. east of Putnam, Ct, a huge antique town also on Rt. 44; 40 min. from Foxwoods & Mohegan Casinos, Rt. 44W to 395 S in Uncasville, CT. To the coastal beaches it is less than an hour. You can cross all of Rhode Island in less than an hour!
It is 20 Min. to the Federal Hill Section of Prov. RI, with an unbelievable selection of some of the finest Italian restaurants and bakeries this side of Italy!!! MANGIA!!!!!!!!!!
Columbus Day weekend is the Famous Scituate Art Festival, Downtown Scituate, RI Village, countless artists and artisans. Something for everyone in the family! And much, much more! 45 min. to historic and scenic Newport, RI w/ the mansions, beaches, shopping, dining and entertainment!
