Private dock, 3 beautiful bedrooms, large kitchen, dining room, 3 full bathrooms, elevator, 2 decks, walking distance to downtown. 2 Kayaks available for your use directly from our dock. Close to Block Island, Fisher's Island, Casinos, Wineries, The Dinosaur Place, Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, Essex Steam Train and Riverboat, Gillette Castle in East Haddam and B.F. Clyde's Cider Mill. Fantastic restaurants and beaches. Mystic Seaport and the Mystic Aquarium nearby. Take a ferry over to Block Island or simply enjoy the view, kickback and relax. Visit historic Stonington and enjoy shopping, dining, exploring. We are centrally located between the two casinos, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

This is a lovely home, in a wonderful quiet neighborhood. Every room, including the bathrooms have a beautiful river view. The bedrooms are very pretty and decorated nicely. The bathrooms are terrific with granite sinks and great showers. Especially the master-bedroom shower, can't even explain it its so great! upon arrival, everything was clean, towels laid out and all the beds made... we didn't have to do a thing but move ourselves in. The kitchen is fully equipped with nice glasses and dishes (no plastic, like most rentals) Great Television sets and music system. The owners allow you to use their computer, if needed, but we had our lap tops. Coffee was left for our use - so nice, and two kayaks. This was so much fun, getting up in the morning and taking a kayak out to watch the sunrise.... at night we sat outside on a very nice balcony that seats 4 but we managed 6 of us for cocktails and sunset viewing. The train comes and goes all day and all night - you never hear it! honestly. We enjoyed watching the trains and all the boats on the other side of the house, coming and going. There is cute little balcony off the master bedroom that accomodates two - my husband and I called it our secret sitting area and enjoyed a glass of wine before bed every night. We ate in two nights and after dinner found it fun to walk into downtown mystic for an ice-cream. It is approximately 1 mile at best. We dined out at AZU twice and Oyster Club - liked both of them. It happened to be Connecticut tax free shopping week - so shopping was in full swing for my three girls. Sue, the owner was very helpful and nothing seemed to be a problem when I called her to ask about things we could use - she left condiments for our use and a terrific spice rack (stuff you hate packing or buying on vacation) the other thing i feel needs to be noted is this: every time we rent a place, the owners ask that you keep it clean, but they never leave you cleaning supplies. That always dumb founded me. This place leaves directions as to where the cleaning supplies is and what to use on the granite etc. every bathroom has cleaning supplies - this made me VERY happy! I was able to easily keep things tidy. I did bring my own laundry detergent (great washer and dryer) but Sue even had detergent if you needed to use it. Mystic was so much fun! Our weather was fantastic. I would recommend and go back to this place in a heart beat. Thank you Sue and Ned The Howard Family

One of a kind, gorgeous waterfront home!!!

Our family of four (kids 10 & 13) stayed here last month. This home is unbelievable with views, views, views!!! From the amazing entry way, to the 2nd floor bedrooms to the 3rd floor kitchen, the views kept getting better and better! We loved the layout and didn't mind the stairs at all. The master was very private and had a beautiful little deck. The master bath had double sinks and an amazing shower that will get you seriously clean! The other 2 bedrooms had a full bathroom between them and this floor also had the washer and dryer. The top floor had the amazing kitchen, dining and living rooms, each with it's own TV. The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant to communicate with. The home had all those little extras that made our trip much easier; spices, paper products, cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc. They also had beach chairs and towels and a cooler. The kids had a ball crabbing off the dock and using the kayaks. They also swam in the cove, but it was a little mucky so swim shoes are a great idea! It was nice to be able to have friends visit and the yard was big enough for the kids to play frisbee/soccer. We love the Mystic area and the location was perfect for us, nice quiet neighborhood, maybe a mile into town. I had looked at other properties on-line for Mystic and nothing compared to this! You will not be disappointed! We hope to come back when we are in CT again!

Beautiful Property

Our family stayed here the first week of August 2011. The home is comfortable, beautifully-maintained and has such great views of the Mystic river. The neighborhood is very quiet and walkable if you want to take an early morning/evening stroll. The owners were great to work with and quickly responded to an issue we had with one of the fireplaces.

My kids are 7 and 9 and they loved the kayaks. At low tide much of the inlet is very shallow, so I felt comfortable letting the kids go out alone (with life vests on), knowing if they tipped over they could stand up without a problem.

Some of the things we enjoyed doing were downtown Mystic, Misquamicut beach in RI, the Mystic Seaport, Gillette Castle in East Haddam, CT, and Newport, RI to tour the mansions. We did have great weather the week we were there, which made all the outdoor activities all the more enjoyable.

It is worth noting that the main floor of this house is the TOP floor. So there are alot of stairs to get to the top floor. The elevator is handy for moving your stuff in/out and for bringing your groceries up, but you need to read the instructions carefully.

Overall we had a great experience and would recommend to friends

Outstanding home

We had an outstanding 2 week stay at this beautiful waterfront home. The accomodations were perfect with lots of little extras that made us feel right at home.We kayaked each morning and enjoyed the water views from every window all day. We were close to Mystic and some great restaurants to include some excellent waterfront ones with fresh lobsters. We are planning a return stay.

An amazing place to stay when visiting Mystic area

Our party of six thoroughly enjoyed the week we stayed in this house. The location was absolutely perfect for our needs and likes -- close to the Coast Guard Academy for graduation activities we were there to attend, and it's on the water -- always a plus! It was wonderful and peaceful -- the sunrises and sunsets were beautiful, and I loved watching the boats pass by. Bird watchers would love sitting on the two decks, watching and listening to the hawks, songbirds and waterfowl. It is easy to get to, and downtown Mystic is an easy walk away.
As for the house itself, it is very impressive and has a very interesting design. The views from the third floor living areas just can't be beat, and the interiors of all the rooms are wonderfully comfortable too. The listing photos accurately reflect the quality of the accommodations. We felt at home immediately - the rooms are warm and inviting. The kitchen is well supplied with utensils and everything else we needed to prepare and eat meals. The spacious layout of the house allows one either to escape for a bit of privacy or to be part of the group as desired. Everything is impeccably clean and well-maintained. The neighbors are friendly. The 'rules of the house' are very clearly laid out, and contact phone numbers are furnished. They provide a list of nearby restaurants with a short critique of each.
The owners were amazing to work with, were very accommodating and caring, responded to my questions promptly and cordially, and added a lot of personal touches that can make a special vacation even more so.
I would definitely recommend this house to friends or relatives, and as a matter of fact I already have! If we ever are lucky enough ourselves to spend another week in this area, I would try to rent this property again in a heartbeat.
