Surfing
Surfing is permitted at the following beaches:
* 12th Street North
* 10th Street South
* North of South End Jetty
* South of the Sandy Lane bathing area
Surfers (or aspiring surfers) may also contact the Brigantine Beach Waveriders at (609) 266-SURF for information about surfing tournaments and clinics for youth.
Kite Flying
Permitted on 34th Street South to 38th Street South.
4 Wheel Drive Permits can be purchased at the Beach Fee Office, located at 15th Street and Brigantine Avenue from May 1st through September 1st, and at City Hall the rest of the year.
Driving a four-wheel drive is permitted on the beach, as long as a permit is obtained. Cost is $160, $80 for seniors.
Boat ramps, sailboats, jet-skis...:
Boat Ramp
The Boat Ramp is located at 5th St. South and Bayshore Avenue. A permit to use the ramp is required from May 15th to September 15th. (See fee table below. Also see note at bottom of page about Boat/Trailer parking.) Permits are only sold at the boat ramp.

Sailboats
Licensed boats only. 6th Street North, 28th Street - 30th Street & 40th Street.
Jet Skis
You must have a permit to launch from designated beach. The cost is $125.00/yr. In order to obtain a permit, applicant must have a copy of Face sheet of insurance policy (minimum $500,000 liability insurance required. Permit holders must follow rules and regulations of permit. Jet Skiing is permitted in the inlet side of the South Jetty as designated by appropriately posted signs.
Kayaking, catamarans, boat parking...:
Kayaking
Kayaking is permitted at the following beaches.
* Adjacent to all Lifeguard protected beaches.
* The North-end beaches (North of 15th Street North)
* Absecon Inlet Beaches.
* Area between Sandy Lane and Seaside Road lifeguard station.
* 26th Street South – City Dock area.
Catamarans
Must have a permit, the cost is $150.00/yr. In order to obtain a permit applicant must have proof of Liability Insurance. The launch area is located from Neptune Drive to Club Drive.
Parking of Boats and/or Trailers
Parking shall be prohibited within the City of Brigantine from October 1st to May 1st. From May 1st to September 30th, boats and/or trailers can be parked on the street in front of the owners/lessees property. No parking of boats and/or trailers on Ocean Avenue at anytime.
