A great place to stay while in the Portland area

We had a fantastic vacation at this “home away from home”. While in the Portland area we would not consider anyplace else. The amenities are perfect and the location of Michael and Trina’s house is superb.
The home is nestled in the trees and is the ideal peaceful retreat. Looking out the windows one only sees green – with a peak view of beautiful Little Lake Sebago across the street. Kayaking around the lake, in the two provided kayaks, is serene and great exercise. One can also swim in the pool-like lake, with a sandy beach island a challenging swim destination (or with kayaks for those less into strenuous swims).
The location is ideal also. We were surprised to find how easy of a trip it is to downtown Portland. Twenty minutes and you are at the docks buying fresh lobster and seafood (May we recommend Harbor House) or enjoying the quaint city’s museums, restaurants or just going for a stroll. Another 20 minutes and you are in Cape Elizabeth with its views of the sea and lighthouses.
The house is in the middle of the lakes region with so much to do: fishing, boating, waterskiing, and jet skiing are all possible if you have your own equipment, or are readily available a short drive away if you want to rent. Go to Bridgton for great food or to Naples for seafood and ice cream on the lake. Sebago State Park is also great swimming destination.
You are an hour from the Maine islands – we visited Bailey Island, Orr Island, Boothbay and Popham Beach State Park. Make sure to stop in Wiscasset and eat at Red’s Eats – a shack right on Route 1 with great seafood.
The home has everything you could need with three bedrooms and a full kitchen; a comfortable living room and a balcony to enjoy the great night sky before falling asleep. And then waking up to singing birds the following morning to start a new day
