Home away from home!

It's hard to know where to begin but this condo was absolutely perfect! Just what we were looking for. There is nothing lacking with the accommodations whatsoever. Within minutes of arriving we looked at each other and realized we were both thinking the same thing; this is like being home. The condo is very clean and fresh.
We go through a lot of ice and we never once ran out. The ice maker worked very well keeping up with us!
Much thought went into every single touch and amenity. Plenty of cookware, dishware, utensils, appliances, linens, towels, beach towels (good quality!), upscale lanai furniture, beach mats and umbrellas and I could go on and on. We especially loved having the washer and dryer. There is a really nice little stereo and had we been thinking, we would have packed some of our favorite CD's. Next time, and there will definitely be a next time, we will do that.
We really liked the fact that the building only has 10 units and while we were there we counted only about 5 occupied including ours. We pretty much had the pool deck to ourselves the entire week. It was unreal!
As for the area, we had always stayed in previous years on Seven Mile Beach and were looking for a more quiet, laid back atmosphere this time and we certainly found it. We picked up all our groceries for breakfasts and lunches and made our liquor store run (had to make a few more of those through the week). We only ate lunch out twice, both times at Over the Edge Cafe. We also had dinner there and everything was wonderful. We dined at the Rum Point restaurant one night and it was wonderful. We both had the Hot Pot which we would most definitely do again. We highly recommend it. But most of our dinners were enjoyed at the Kaibo Beach Bar. Great food, very friendly staff and fun atmosphere. The feel on that part of the island is so much more relaxed and laid back than on Seven Mile and there is so much more of a "local" feel.
We have raised 5 children and are at the age where we appreciate a low pace, low key vacation without a lot of people, tourists and little kids all around, not that we have anything against small children; we enjoy our 4 grandchildren, but we have "been there done that" and when it comes to our own idea of getting away we prefer more quiet, less hectic adult surroundings.
Rum Point is just a quick jaunt up the road and it is very lively and festive with a nice beach area, beach bar, restaurant, gift shop, etc.
Bob was a gem. Thanks, Bob!
