Wahlhiefer Haus is simply one of the nicest vacation rentals you will ever stay at. Established in 2001, its rich history is built into the decor, revealing a peek at country life. It has been completely renovated, with central heat and air, hardwood floors, and all the comforts of modern country living. With five bedrooms and two bathrooms, the Haus sleeps 14. The Bunkhouse sleeps an additional 11. We offer vacation rental properties, family vacations, weekly and monthly rentals, vacation getaways, and pet friendly vacation rentals. We offer gorgeous scenery and surroundings in a setting that will allow you to relax and unwind. We are centrally located, minutes from the Guadaloupe and Comal rivers, Gruene, Schlitterbahn and the famous Prime and Tanger outlet malls. Queen Anne bedroom has queensize bed with TV and adjoining bedroom with twin bed. Lady Gebauer room has queensize bed with private bathroom. The living room has two futons (which make up into double beds) with a twin bed on top of each--sleeping six. There is a dining room table, TV/DVD/VCR (with lots of movies), books, and games. The Bunkhouse has two sets of double bunkbeds and one futon with bunk above. It has TV/DVD and microwave oven.

A wonderful weekend at Wahlhiefer Haus. The house was clean and the sleeping accommodations were better than most large group facilities I found. Great location too just minutes from Gruene, Texas State University, the Outlet Mall and The River. The owner was extremely helpful and professional. I would recommend staying here to all our friends.

Wahlhiefer Haus-- Hidden Gem of the Hill Country

Wahlhiefer Haus is everything it promises! My husband and I stayed here in November. It's an old-fashioned farm house, very nostalgic, and there are little educational plaques posted here and there that really add to the overall learning experience. The owners have themed out the property with little farm animal cut-outs--so cute for taking photos. There's a swing on an oak tree for the kids, and a place to lock up the family dog so you take your pets along. They also had a nice video library and many board games. It was very comfortable and clean--the owner was so welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hidden little gem for anyone visiting the Texas Hill Country!

Just what the Doctor ordered

Our stay at the Wahlhiefer Haus was most enjoyable. During the reservation phase, Bettie was most helpful and responsive to all our questions. Once we arrived, we found the house exactly as she had described it. It reminded me so much of my Grandparents farm house. Very homey feeling and clean. If you have never taken a bath in an original clawfoot bathtub, you will have to try this one. The ages in our group ranged from 18 to 78 and everyone enjoyed the rich history of the house. Several walked over to Riley’s to enjoy the live music in the evening. The Google Map was a little off with their directions, but Mapquest was spot on. There are some train tracks nearby but are definitely not show shoppers. We won’t hesitate to rent again. Bettie, thanks for making a memorable stay. Hope to see you again next summer, Dusty

Great place for a large family!

We loved this house. It really had a lot of room for a large family for group. It was close to everything, the outlet mall, water park, river and tons of other things to do. We saved lots of money being able to cook and grill at the house. It was kid friendly, the house owner had games and movies for the kids.
