Provincetown House Rental Photos and Description

Designed and built by a furniture-maker, 'The Porch House' is the larger of two side-by-side dwellings in a two family arts and crafts style house. There is a sound proof party wall between! Tucked away on a private drive and set back a block away from Bradford St, you'll still only be 1-1/2 blocks from the bay, a 5 minute walk to the gallery district, and a 10 minute walk to town center. From the porch, you will enter the large open-plan 1st floor. The light filled living/dining area is paneled in traditional bead-board, and opens to a generous kitchen with stone counter tops and new appliances Two equal size cathedral ceiling bedrooms and both bathrooms are on the air conditioned 2nd floor. Hardwood floors are throughout, except in the tiled bathrooms. Private outdoor shower. Parking for 2 mid size cars is adjacent to the house. Pets considered.

About Rick Wrigley

I live and work right near my Provincetown summer weekly rental houses. Since I am local, I deal with guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between. I try to be responsive to all of my renters needs. My properties are fully furnished and have all the amenities of home!

Rick Wrigley purchased this house in 1995

Why Rick Wrigley chose Provincetown

I purchased this 5 acre parcel of land in 1995 and have designed and built 4 custom houses here. My experience as a furniture designer/maker has enabled me give special attention to the finishes and detailing of the houses.

What makes this house unique

Walk or bike to galleries, shopping, bars, clubs, and restaurants, and beaches. When you return home to this secluded grouping of 3 houses, you'll be in a relaxing, quiet, and peaceful hideaway.

Wonderful house and terrific landlord

  • 5 of 5
I just enjoyed a week at The Porch House and found it ideal. It's right in town, yet off the main drag and thus quiet, private and serene. The details are lovely, the decor is stylish and tasteful and the kitchen and bathrooms are stocked with all the tools you need for a stay away from home. It think it's all prettier in person than the photos can show. I also really appreciated the helpful, respectful and flexible attitude of our landlord. All in all this is a real find for the price. I would stay there again any time.

Comfortable and cozy, yet close to the action!

  • 5 of 5
A few friends and I stayed at The Porch House during Memorial Day weekend. From the moment we drove up to the house we were incredibly pleased with the layout, the cleanliness, and the way the place just felt like home. Rick stopped by on our first day to introduce himself, and then he left us to our own devices. This was a wonderful balance of being incredibly welcoming, while still giving us our own space. The house itself was incredibly homey, and it was certainly large enough for about four people. I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes to stay somewhere that feels like home. The walk to town was about 10 minutes, and we never felt that we were too far from anything; we didn't use our car once while we were there. In all honesty, I would absolutely stay here again, and I would sincerely recommend you do too!

We arrived late afternoon, sun low in the sky, to find the Porch House nestled among trees and off the main road. The house is efficiently designed and perfectly appointed and has the feel of a much loved cottage. We knew walking in that this house is well cared for and a point of pride.

The location is great, a five minute walk to the beginnings of Commercial street's activity, an easy bike to the beautiful P-Town biking trails, and a short distance from a small grocery on Commercial.

With a well equipped kitchen, a laundry and an outdoor shower, we were ready to stay for a month! Thank you, Rick!

Location, location, location

I stayed in the porch house for a week at the end of June, 2012 with my family. With two children aged 6 and 7 we loved the ability to walk 2 blocks to a GREAT bay beach that had tons of kids playing and dogs walking. I loved being able to walk to the market, and walk into Provincetown. Quiet and set away from everything, but within close proximity to anything you want on a Cape Cod vacation, the Porch House did not disappoint! Thanks, Rick.

A Quiet Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5
My partner and I recently stayed at Porch house for our third consecutive annual one week stay and have only praise for this accommodation. We love the open, sunny, and relaxing design of the cottage, the fully stocked kitchen, the laundry facility in the clean, well lit basement, the rocking chair porch, the outdoor shower out back and the lovely, quiet surroundings amidst trees and garden. The east end location is also wonderful, just a short walk to the harbor and to the galleries on Commercial Street. Rick has done a wonderful job maintaining the porch house and has always been very accommodating and available

Beauty, Design, Comfort and Location

  • 5 of 5
The Porch House is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway or for longer periods of time. In 2010 through 2011, I stayed at the Porch House when I needed a serene place to retreat. I felt completely safe and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you would need. The open floor plan adds to its charm and great for entertaining. The bedrooms are airy and very roomy. Rick, the property owner, takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness inside and outside. The house is set back from busy streets which adds to its secluded and private surroundings yet walking distance to shops, restaurants and beaches. The Porch House truly has a character all its own. Beauty, design, comfort and great location!

Provincetown is perched on the uppermost tip of Cape Cod. In the summer, the population of this quaint fishing village swells to 30,000. 'P-Town,' attracts a cosmopolitan mix of people and is a haven for artists, writers, actors, and musicians. A vibrant nightlife is offered for both gays and straights. A stroll through town will take visitors past and eclectic mix of historic sights, tourist shops, and clusters of, picturesque homes surrounded by flower gardens. On a clear day, it is possible to have a 360° view of the entire Cape from the top of Pilgrim Monument. There are miles of ocean and bay beaches in Provincetown and the many walking and biking trails in the protected National Seashore provide visitors with views of ponds, cranberry bogs, beech forests, and sand dunes. Whale watching, sailing, and fishing trips depart daily from the harbor.
