This wooded community falls between Otis and Sandisfield MA, approximately 30 minutes away from the gourmet tastes in Great Barrington, cultural spectacles in Stockbridge, skiing at Jiminy Peak and live performances at Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow. The home is also conveniently located 20 minutes away from the Premium Outlets. If outdoors activities are more your speed, the area offers countless hiking trails, cross country skiing trails, fishing and boating locations. Within a mile of the house is a beach, lake, swimming pool, tennis courts, volley ball court and club house. All amenities exclusive to renters of the Otis Wood Lands Community. Boating and fishing equipment can be rented at Otis Reservoir.

Love the wood stove!

A group of thirty-something friends of mine rented this place for a few days over New Year's. We had a great time cooking in the big kitchen, exploring the trails nearby on snowshoes and skis, and playing games and sipping wine by the wood stove. We thought we might hop in the car to one of the nearby mountains or ski resorts, but ended up happily sticking close to home instead.

The beds were comfy and the place was well-maintained. The owner was responsive to my questions before the trip. (We didn't have any questions once we were there.) We loved our getaway! I would recommend this place to a friend, and would like to go back sometime.

Relaxing Getaway

The description of this house is quite good. The house was spotless when we got there, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a delicious apple cake from a local bakery waiting for us!
The owner was very available for answering questions both before, and during our stay. We never did figure out how to use the internet, but I'm actually glad that we didn't. The setting is conducive to a feeling of getting away from it all, and having the internet on might have changed that.
The lake beach is rarely crowded, despite sunny days, and was very relaxing. The grill was fantastic, with a full tank of gas.
The only downfall was on the last day, the water pump broke. Nothing that could have been forseen, and was quickly taken care of, along with apologies and a partial refund.
I'd recommend this house, just not when we want it again!
