Perfect Week and Perfect House

Our family has been coming to Bald Head Island for years. Since that first summer vacation, our family of five has grown to include a son-in-law, (the wedding was at the Bald Head Island Chapel and reception at the Shoals Club), a fiance for my son, and a boyfriend for our youngest daughter. Even though our son's finance came this year, we still included one of his best friends that has been coming with us for several years. Because of our growing number, we needed a larger house and one that could comfortably accommodate 9 adults. The Rum Runner was perfect!! The three master suites accommodated us so well! The two downstairs are still separated adequately and provide privacy. The upstairs three bedrooms included another master suite which was nice for my daughter's boyfriend to have his own privacy. The two bedrooms that sleep 4 in one and 2 in the other could be for children, but are just as well suited for adults. They had good mattresses and were comfortable.
We all agreed that this has been our favorite house. The things that make it our favorite are:
1.a well stocked kitchen..included very sharp knives (we are all foodies and love to cook), also an extra large frying pan great for frying fish and making pancakes. The only thing you might want to bring for the kitchen is a heavy duty can opener.
2.within walking distance to the Shoal's Club, the beaches, and the Turtle Conservancy.
3.short cart ride to the Market
4.beautifully decorated house with an open floor plan in the living area which was great for cooking and still being part of the fun!
5.exceptionally clean house
6. owners are exceptional to rent from. We had a problem with the air conditioning and it was fixed immediately
7.Fantastic large screened in porch
8.bicycles are in good working order and not rusted like some have been in the past
There is a large selection of books, games, CD's, and DVD's.
While you're on the island, make sure to go to the Turtle Conservancy and watch the video, "Turtle the Incredible Journey." Adults and children alike will find this fascinating.
You will not be disappointed in The Rum Runner or Bald Head Island. Missing it already!
