This cozy little beach side cottage, is located across the street from the beautiful beach in Hauula, which is on the Windward coast of Oahu. The cottage is reminiscent of old Hawaii. Originally built in 1938, the cottage was renovated in 2006. It is a little slice of paradise with great views of the mountains out back and the ocean in front. The beach right across the street is great for swimming--the water is clear and calm. The large yard is great for playing, and there is a patio in the back for barbecuing. You can sit on the front porch and watch the sunrise and the ocean. Or you can hang out under the plumeria tree in the yard and relax. The back bedroom has an air conditioner and there are three ceiling fans. There is also a great outdoor shower and toilet area. Two boogie boards are provided as well as everything you would need to kick back and have a great stay in this very special place filled with aloha. Come relax in this cozy beach side cottage directly across the street from the beach. Sunrise Cottage is located on the Windward Coast of North Oahu in the town of Hauula. Hauula is a small town located between Punaluu and Laie. Be located out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and have a home base in which to just relax or travel around the island and come back to your little cottage by the beach. The cottage is three miles from the Polynesian Cultural Center where you can spend the day in different Polynesian villages, attend a luau and see a great evening show with fire dancers. You can also visit the famous North Shore beaches to see the famous surf events during the winter months or swim at sandy beaches during the summer. Close by is the Kualoa Ranch where you can ride horses, visit the places where movies were made, visit gardens and fish ponds, or visit the Turtle Bay Resort for fine dining or to golf or tennis. Modern conveniences with the ambiance of old Hawaii!

Feel the Aloha of Old Hawaii: Our cottage is a slice of the past with all of the modern conveniences. We have some restored authentic furniture, plus the latest leather furniture with a look of the 1930's. There are several books about Hawaii as well as visitor guidebooks.

Our family beach cottage.: This cottage has been in our family since the 1960's. It was built in 1938 and has been renovated twice--most recently in 2006. Our children and now our grandchildren enjoy spending time here. There's lots of room in the large yard to play and the beach is right across the street. The street is Kamehameha Highway, the highway that goes almost around the island of Oahu. The beautiful mountains can be seen from the back of the cottage.

Feel the Aloha of Old Hawaii:

Golf: The Turtle Bay Resort is just 15 minutes away and they have a great resort golf course. Also close by is the Kahuku Municiple Golf Course on the ocean's edge which is a bargain! We have a set of golf clubs you can use.

Other Activities: Polynesian Cultural Center (shows, luau) , Kualoa Ranch (horseback riding), Turtle Bay Resort (golf, tennis)

We so enjoyed the setting here. A quiet and relaxing beach bungalow. It was exactly what we were hoping for. Its sits off the road. We enjoyed every evening on the porch with our drinks. And every morning with our coffee. Our boys loved walking across the street to play in the water and snorkel. But, we also loved going up to North Shore. Spectacular waves to admire, plus a surf competition. We blended smoothies, and found the kitchen to have everything we needed. We got in late, so it was a relief to find coffee and peanut butter and condiments the next morning. There were also extra toiletries. The outdoor shower is very handy. The boogie boards and snorkel gear was nice to use. Beautiful yard! Would choose this place again! Thank you.

Marvelous location in immaculate cottage!

We spent an incredible week here. Coming back to the cottage after a day's adventures brought a smile to our faces each day. Appliances are all state of the art, and the cottage is immaculately kept. Beds are VERY comfortable, fans in every living space, and AC in the master bedroom. The ocean view is unobstructed and the cottage is sufficiently removed from the highway to eliminate most road noise. The front porch is a great place to relax and succomb to the effects of the ocean's call and the caress of the winds. The outside shower (and toilet!) are loads of fun and in fact some preferred it to the wonderfully complete inside bathroom!

Dianne greeted us by phone, asking if the cottage suited us and inquired if we needed anything. Later, we had need to call her to locate the iron, and she called back promptly. Thanks Dianne - we'd come back in a heartbeat and will try to do so. We would HIGHLY recommend this wonderful cottage to anyone.

So many of the north and east Oahu activities are within a short drive away that the location became trebly important. We headed north (west?) to Turtle Beach to swim with and observe the magnificent sea turtles, Shark's Cove and Three Tables for snorkeling, and Haleiwa for wave runners and Aoki Shave Ice. The PCC is a short 10 minutes away in Laie. Heading east or south to Kane'ohe Bay or Kailua Bay was maybe 30+ minutes (driving to Boots and Kimos for Macadamia Nut pancakes). Even Pearl Harbor is maybe 50 minutes from here.

This little cottage has it all. No need to bring along a lot of extras. Close proximity to beaches, attractions and restaurants. Our favorite is still the shrinp trucks along north shore. Cute front porch to sit at night and watch the ocean. Great yard for lawn games or play time if you have small children.
Dianne is warm and friendly and truely wants you to have a great stay.
The propert was very clean and inviting down to the fresh flowers on the counter awaiting our arrival!
We would book this cottage again.

It was a great place. My eighty four year old parents really enjoyed the peacefulness and the perfect breeze from the ocean. The house was very cozy and very enjoyable. A real good place for relaxation. It was a great spot being right next door to my mother's brother's home. It also was easy for my Uncle to visit my mother everyday which made my Mom so thankful seeing him every single day of our stay. Also, it was nice of you to have us pick flowers and make lays for the luau we had in Uncle Walter's house.

Our reunion was perfect and just being right next door made it so easy for my parents, so much convenient, clean, complete with all the things we need. It's like home away from home.

I would recommend this place to all my friends and family who will visit Hawaii someday.

Thank you once again for having us rent your beautiful vacation house.

this cottage was absolutely amazing.the kitchen was great, it has all what a cooker's heart need.the whole cottage was clean,lot of space for everything.the kindly support of dianne was very lovely and always available.the internet is very fast and easy to install.we would definitely recommend to other friends.the location is not as central like honolulu (1h drive from airport) but it has enough possibilities shopping (food, ...). we would stay here again.

das cottage war genial. die küche war mit allem ausgestattet und lässt keine wünsche offen.das ganze cottage hat sehr viele extras (bodyboards, badetücher, haartrockner, sonnenschirme, uvm.) was nicht selbstverständlich ist. dianne war immer für uns da, wir bekamen stets schnell antwort auf unsere mails. das internet war superschnell und einfach zu installieren. für schweizer-verhältnisse ist das cottage echt der hammer.es ist nicht unbedingt sehr zentral wie honolulu,man hat doch 1h autofahrt vom flughafen oder honolulu.wir würden aber auf jeden fall wieder hierher kommen.
