Savannah is a wonderful city to visit! Our centrally located garden apartment will provide you with a great place to call home while you're here.

Located in the 600 block of Lincoln Street, it is 2 blocks from: Forsythe Park - a perfect place for an evening stroll or for watching the world go by during the day; a very nice Kroger store (where you can catch a free shuttle to sites throughout the Historic District) ; a beautiful spa; and last but not least, the liquor store. It is within walking distance of Broughton Street and all that Historic Savannah has to offer, as well as the City Market and River Street with its shops and myriad of fantastic restaurants.

This is an end unit apartment so it has lots of windows and light, however because the end faces private patios of another building there is very little street noise.

Extra information: We have reserved off street parking with direct access to the apartment. The bedroom has a pillow top, queen size, wrought iron bed; a small TV; walk in closet; and full bath with tub/shower and his and hers sinks. There is a stacked washer/dryer so you can pack a bit lighter if you wish. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, dishes, flatware, and pots and pans. In the living room you will find a desk area, high speed internet, cable TV with VCR, a DVD player, a small video library, some great books and a fireplace.

Considering you are out sightseeing most of the time this was ideal for us. The kitchen was very accommodating, really liked having a washer and dryer (stacked). We travel with our dog in tow, had no problem, it was only two steps to the outside, plenty of neighborhood walking. The Italian restaurant close by was very good and having the Kroger store a few blocks away was great (you can walk to it). We had no problem with the neighborhood, nor did we have any problem parking right in front. If you are looking for decent basic accommodations at a very reasonable price this will fit your needs. We were only disappointed that we didn't have more time to spend in Savannah. Lots to see. Would definitely rent again.

Met our expectations, would come back!

Our 4 day stay in Savannah was way too short, an absolutely gorgeous and fascinating city, both historically and architecturally. While this property is not new, it entirely served our purposes -- located close to historic Savannah, around the corner from a grocery, free parking, washer/dryer, full kitchen -- for enjoying this city. Ample living area/study, kitchen with all standard appliances, etc. We would come back should we have the privilege to visit this magical city again!

MUCH LESS THAN POOR RATING!!

We arrived to utter filth. Drove 20 hrs. Had to clean for 12 hrs. just to sleep there. Dirty sheets, towels that could stand up by themselves. 3 shopping bags of hair removed from hose of vacuum cleaner because it wouldn't suck anything up. Dead bugs and hair in tub & shower and someones toothbrush left in there. Red washcloth left in washer covered in white hair. Comforter seams split open and filling coming out. Carpets covered with food,pills,dirt,paper clips,peanut shells (that could have killed our tiny dogs if eaten they are 6.5 & 8 lbs). Furniture covered in hair, stains,and rips. Long hairs in refrigerator, pice maker was frosted shut. Pot holders covered in crusty food. Dead cockroaches and mice droppings in drawers and pantry. Cold air return packed with 1/2" of dust.Water stains on the ceiling, peeling paint on the walls from water damage. No cleaning products had to buy them out with our own money. Couldn't find a place to stay, either booked or didn't take pets. Left in a day and a half were supposed to stay for 5 nights. Didn't get to do or see anything in the historic district that we wanted to.Spent our time on the laptop looking for a place to stay. Were so disgusted didn't even go out to dinner too upset to eat. Walked our dogs the next day to get out of the place, that's it. Cried more than anything. Pictures must have been taken 10 years ago and hasn't been cleaned in months. I have dozens of photos of our experience before and after we cleaned it. Got our money back, but never want to go back to GA. Very sad, it was our first time there ever and our first vacation in over 3 1/2 yrs. No one seems to care. Worst experience ever, we still can't speak of it without crying! Don't understand how anyone can live like that or have such little compassion. I'm a business owner and would NEVER treat anyone like that. We take pride in every aspect of our life! I was assure how spotless it was that's what's so heartbreaking, then we kill ourselves cleaning it for someone else's benefit and profit and we get no compensation for it. Someone else took credit for that. I just can't stress enough the total disappointment when you look so forward to getting away and relaxing, and having NONE. End up spending more money than anticipated and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth and a hole in your heart! We expected an old building being in the historic district, but there is a huge difference between old and being completely neglected and filthy! SHAME

Owner's Response: We take the satisfaction of our guests very seriously. Clearly our efforts and our apartment did not meet this guest’s expectations, and I am very very sorry about that! Over the past 7 or 8 years we have had literally hundreds of happy guests stay in our two Savannah properties, we have never before had a negative review, and we will do everything in our power to continue having people enjoy their stay with us. Both prior to, and following this couple we had guests who were both happy and comfortable in our garden apartment. It is not shabby or “utterly filthy” it is the kind of place that we would comfortably call home.
Please check the other reviews for this property. With the HomeAway system there is nothing that we can do to remove negative reviews so be assured that you are seeing everything.
All of that being said we have taken this situation very seriously and have thoroughly reviewed cleaning and maintenance procedures with our housekeeper. There are certainly things that can be improved upon in any rental scenario, and we will do our best to continue to provide a clean and comfortable vacation rental property.

Great Getaway

What a great spot! We found this rental very clean and inviting. It is in a quiet neighborhood close to parks and Historic Savannah. We were able to walk to scenic parks, a grocery store, very good restaurants and the downtown attractions. The rental was fully furnished with everything we required. The spacious kitchen was well stocked. After a quick trip to the grocery store we were ready to cook some of our own meals. The owner had supplied many brochures for finding our way around and for places to eat. We had a very relaxing stay and hope to return soon.

Comfortable and Convenient

We used this comfortable, conveniently located, pet-friendly apartment as our home base while we looked for a permanent place to live in Savannah. It's near everything - the wonderful Forsyth Park for our two pups, a half-block from the Kroger Grocery store, a half-block from Leoci's a great Italian restaurant - and walkable to everything in historic Savannah. The apartment was larger than it appeared in the photos. The kitchen was completely stocked with dishes, glassescookware and utensils. And either Bob, the landlord, or former guests left a library of varied and interesting books. The TV and WiFi worked without a hitch and the queen-size bed was very comfy. The off-street parking was a real bonus. Bob was a very thoughtful and responsive landlord - very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. For one or two people with pets, you can't beat this place.

Perfect location

This home was a perfect fit for me, my husband and two small yorkies. So close to Forsyth Park, which we walked everyone morning with our yorkies. The home was very cozy, plenty of room. We will definitely return for another stay.

When we first visited Savannah several years ago we quickly fell in love with the amazing historic atmosphere and the number of things that a relatively small city has to offer. We have provided a number of brochures and guides to the city and its activities.

There are numerous events year round at the Savannah College of Art and Design, as well as the several other colleges in town. Tybee Island with its beaches and seafood restaurants is about a half hour drive. If you are a golfer there are several courses in town and Hilton Head is an easy day trip. There are both trolley and horse and buggy tours as well as lots of walking tours available that will help you get oriented if you are a first time visitor.
