Those seeking an off-track relaxing vacation will not be disappointed. St. Kitts and Nevis have similarities with tropical paradises more often found in the South Pacific, light, airy and amazing vegetation. The North of St. Kitts is dominated by the sullen, cloud fringed dormant volcano Mt. Liamuiga (pronounced Lee-a-mweega) covered by dense tropical rain forest, whilst to the South is a narrow peninsular on which can be found some beautiful isolated beaches.
To the South of St. Kitts lies Nevis, a smaller island with it's own volcano, green vervet monkeys and brilliant tropical flowers.
Basseterre, the capital of St. Kitts, contains the test cricket ground of Warner Park. The Water Front has a uniquely local flavour with a string of markets ranging from craft products near Port Zante through stalls that sell local delicacies such as Goat Water and Salt Fish (a breakfast speciality!) to an area where one can buy fresh fish as it is landed.
