My wife and I stayed in the Bungalow property for four nights (june 23 - 26, 2011) and absolutely loved it. Barbara and her husband Frank could not do enough to make our stay just perfect. A perfect getaway for two people. Everyhting you'll ever want to do is so close and you'll look forward to coming home to the cozy fireplace. We would like to keep this special place a secret but realize it's just too perfect not to let everyone in on it. Call Barbara and Frank and you'll be surprised how specila they are. Other family members rented two other homes managed by Barbara and Frank at the same time and they all just raved about their stays and the accommodations.
Just returned from a weekend getaway with three other friends to this sanctuary in Occidental....everything was perfect! We used both the guest home and studio; both were immaculately clean, charmingly decorated, and so cozy and inviting. Barbara was so welcoming when we arrived into town, having us into her Union Hotel Restaurant for complimentary bruschetta and wine! We sat in the lovely outdoor garden area and were introducted to the BEST bruschetta we've ever had!
We loved the location of the house, being so close to town...we could just walk down to dinner only a few steps away! And speaking of food....after checking out the other restaurants in town, we kept going back again and again and yet again to Barbara's Union Hotel for the most amazing Italian food ever!
We had big weekend plans of checking out wineries, shopping, exploring, etc. but we ended up loving the house so much, mostly we stayed in and enjoyed the surroundings and eachother's company. Our favorite spots were on the front deck, overlooking downtown Occidental and on the super cozy leather couches in the living room. Ahhhh, nothing could have been better! Can't wait to go back!
