Cabin, 5 Bedrooms + Office (queen fold out couch), 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 14-16)

Home completed in spring 2008, perched overlooking French Broad River w/ panoramic views of Mt. Mitchell on one side and Mt. Pisgah on the other, half hour north of Asheville. This is the perfect get away from it all destination yet it's only 10 minutes from the county seat of Marshall and 15 from full service grocery store.

Home sits on over 20 acres, providing lots of room for hiking. There are 3 floors (4200+ square feet) to accommodate family gatherings and was professionally decorated with comfort and luxury in mind.

There are 3 stone fireplaces, 2 large screen TV's and 5 others in the office and bedrooms. Recreation room in the bottom level with bar and pool table, plus 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths (master w/Jacuzzi and walk in shower) w/heated floors and washer/dryer. Main floor has full kitchen, laundry room, great room, master bed/bath with Jacuzzi, walk in shower and deck. Top floor has 2 bedrooms(one king, other w/2 doubles) plus full bath & office. 7 person hot tub & 2 dining tables on deck to enjoy one of kind views of the mountains and French Broad River.

Our home is 10 minutes from downtown Marshall and 25 from Hot Springs. Madison County. Breathtaking views of the French Broad River, Mt. Piscah and Mt Mitchell are yours off our deck. You can sign up for a white water rafting trip down the French Broad at Hot Springs. If you'd rather visit all that Asheville has to offer, you can be downtown in 45 minutes.

Wonderful! Wonderful!

We stayed in this beautiful home the last week in Oct. and it was more than we expected. The pictures are great, but really don't do it justice. It snowed the 2nd morning we were there. Didn't eat in Marshall, but heard the Bistro was very good. The drive to Ashville is about 25 minutes. We took the train trip out of Bryson, but if I had it to do again, I probably wouldn't as the views from the deck at the house are prettier than any we saw on that trip. Joan has put much thought in the comfort of her guest.

This home has the best view of any vacation property we have ever stayed in. The views of the mountains from the back deck are unobstructed and great in the morning, afternoon, and evening. It is also a very private, relaxing setting.
The interior is large with plenty of space and great ways to stay entertained (pool table, poker table, hot tub, 5 TV’s with a plethora of channels).
We will definitely be back and would highly recommend!

Room to Spare

Woody & Joan's home was absolutely perfect for our multiple family vacation. With 4 families there was plenty of room to spread out and not feel cramped. We brought kids that ranged in age from 2-6 and they loved playing on the hill just to the right of the house. We loved seeing the trains go by on the tracks and enjoyed the neighborhood dogs that hung out with us while we played outdoor games.
The kitchen was fully stocked. The house was spotless. There were plenty of towels and linens.
The directions provided were thorough and helpful as the cabin is off the beaten path. We enjoyed the patio in the evenings. The husbands hiked down to the river... I just can't say enough wonderful things about this home and our trip. I highly recommend booking your mountain vacation at Riversky!

Perfect Vacation!

Woody and Joan's cabin is so beautiful! The pictures don't even do it justice. This is the best stocked cabin we have ever stayed in. They truly have thought of everything, and they could not have been nicer to deal with. We cannot wait to go again! They have a folder packed with information on things to do and places to eat in the area. We went rafting twice at French Broad Rafting Expeditions, just about 20 minutes away. Favorite restaurant was Stony Knob Cafe (they prefer reservations), favorite pizza was Marco's Pizza in Asheville. Took the kids to Asheville Fun Depot and they loved it--lots of bang for the buck. Would stay even longer next time. Thanks so much, Woody and Joan!

Nothing could be more perfect...

This place could not have been more perfect for me and my husband, a bunch of pups, and 11 of our closest friends. We range in age from mid-20's to 30's and everyone had the space and privacy that they needed - with room to spare! Woody and Joan have created the perfect getaway for friends and family, and will provide you with more than adequate directions once you book. The first time was a little dicey as we second guessed ourselves, but once we found our way it was quick and easy. Asheville is 25 min max away from the house, but you really don't have to leave. The house has everything you would need for a long stay (minus the food)...and I can't forget those beds. After arriving home, we realized ours was no longer adequate and upgraded to a king! The house is honestly perfect and I cannot think of anything to be improved. It would be awesome to have a trail down to the river, but then you'd have to cross the tracks. One of our friends did make it down there, but the rest of us wussed out once we got to the drop-off. All in all, would love to return!
