Description of house:
This charming antique farmhouse was built by a ship captain in 1850. It is located in historic Pond Village, just a ten minute walk from bay beaches and a short bike ride to ocean side. The house accommodates up to 6 people. There are three bedrooms, large country kitchen, living room and parlor. The house is surrounded by a large front yard, vegetable and flower gardens. The house is owned by artists and is decorated with cheerful colors, is spacious and breezy with many beautiful artworks and antiques. The large country kitchen is fully equipped. Other amenities include gas grill, TV/VCR, Washer Dryer, Microwave, Coffee maker and more. There is a delightful outdoor shower a large bath downstairs and a small ship-style bathroom upstairs.
Great Truro location:
From the house you can easily access Cold Storage and Corn Hill beaches on the bay side. They are a short ten minute walk up Pond road, a charming lane with antique houses and historic Pilgrim pond. Some of the most prized ocean beaches such as Head of The Meadow, and Coast Guard beach are a short bike ride away, also along country roads. You can also drive to Provincetown along route 6A, with beautiful vistas of the bay. There are great art galleries and museums, whale watches, and more in Provincetown! Though the house is situated on route 6A, the feeling one gets is of a country village with people walking and biking. A very friendly place. The National Seashore Park surrounds the village and there are many hiking and biking trails to explore.
Other rental details & the cottage:
The main house is available by the week in August (flexible) and the cottage is available June, July and September. More information and pictures available. The small delightful cottage, for two or three people, is $800 per week. It is ideal for two people but sleeps 3 or 4 easily. The downstairs is 15 X 20 feet with an attached bathroom and a full basement with clothes washer. There is also a screen porch that face a hill with meadow, cedars and black walnut trees.
Golf:
There is a beautiful Golf Course at Highland Light House, with views of the headlands and the Atlantic - just a mile up Highland road.
