A large local orchard has Berry, Apple picking & hay rides (2.5 miles away). Go kayaking; we offer two for you use. Bicycles are there for riding. Town is 2.5 miles where you can view the third largest antique home collection in the State of CT. There is the 5 acre Guilford Green with boutique shopping, fabulous restaurants, bread /coffee house, food & meat market, chocolate shop with home made ice cream. One gorgeous antique building after another. Live theater and Shakespeare on the Green is offered all summer.The Guilford Fair is held at the fair grounds in August.

I stayed here with my wife an another couple. The owners were incredibly polite, the house, town and scenery was fantastic. The house has everything you need and it's within walking distance to all the local shops and beers. The townsfolk were lovely too. We stayed in the winter, I can only imagine how nice it is in the summer.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

What a wonderful getaway

We just wanted to thank Janet for allowing us a wonderful Thanksgiving week at her property on Mulberry Point. We took our 2 dogs and they enjoyed it as much as we did......the home was extremely comfortable and had all the necessities required for a great stay. The neighbors are the friendliest people you could ever meet. I highly recommend this home for wonderful relaxing getaways.

This is a beautifully appointed, maintained and well equipped house for any beach vacation. Kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms were top of the line. The views from the house were spectacular. The short 3-minute walk to the beach along the saltmarsh was very enjoyable. The beach is much better at high tide than low tide. Our entire family enjoyed this house, including children and grandchildren. We were sorry to leave after a very quick week.

Great time had by all

The Home was just as described, and more. It was masterfully designed and constructed. Our family ( my wife, mother-in-law, and 20 month old son, myself) had a wonderful vacation here. My wife and I loved exploring with the kayak's , while grandma, and grandson played on the beach, building sand castles. We also found the town of Guilford to be very quaint and historically interesting. There were plenty of options for dinners and lunch's (There was a great wine bar) in town, but we chose to BBQ at the house most evenings. The Beds were super comfy. The kitchen was very well appointed. We drove up to Mystic one day, I liked the historical park, my wife liked the shopping and we took the little one to the aquarium (he loved it!). We then swung by Fox Wood's casino on the way home. (Grandma loved it!) The use of the bikes were a nice bonus. With all that said our favorite activity may have been watching the water and birds from the deck ;-)

Guilford vacation

What a relaxing and enjoyable week we had. The house was beautiful - every bit as nice as descibed in the listing. The private beach was a very short walk with beautiful breezes off the sound. The neighborhood was quiet and very friendly and the owners went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. I don't want to forget to mention watching the ospreys out back or meeting deer several times during the week. Restaurants in the area ranged from fine dining to "fried food" stands and everything in between. First time we've vacationed so close to home. It was so convenient once we can come up with a date, will certainly do it again
