We don't get to this part of the island much, and it is a sweet paradise. Small town, gorgeous weather, kind and loving people.
Our hosts at A Whale Crossing treated us like ohana. We felt connected with them from the start.
The rooms are delightful. Comfortable bed - yay! The bathroom is separate yet easily gotten to barefoot in the night. Loved the outdoor shower.
We had fruit and coffee for breakfast.
We went to the Bamboo for dinner, a little uncertain of our choice because reviews suggested it was pricey. Compared with California fine restaurants, it was medium priced. Dinner for two with drinks and dessert came in at under $100. The food was outstanding. A lovely couple played slack key guitar, sang and danced, and they were phenomenal. They never told us who they were, and we did not find out until later we were listening to and watching John Keawe and his gracious wife Hope, world class musicians.
For a wonderful getaway in the northern tip of the island, A Whale Crossing is a good choice if you appreciate casual and comfortable with aloha.
