Las Vegas stay for 2 adults and 2 teens, 16 and 15

We had an excellent holiday here, and the property was just as described. It was especially important to us that it was in a quiet neighbourhood, and it was; absolutely no noise from outside - great. It also felt very safe. It was as described, and the only reason I'm not rating it excellent was because owing to a mix-up, the house was not ready on our arrival - uncleaned and with an entry code which had not been set. The telephone number given for the property manager didn't connect, and we spent some very anxious time wondering if there was a problem with the rental (we'd heard tales of people losing all their money by renting privately rather than via a tour operator.)
It was fine in the end, and the cleaner was a very nice lady who was extremely helpful, but after such a long flight from the UK we didn't need the hassle of phoning US cell phones from Spanish. It would have been a nice gesture if Alex had perhaps offered us an extra hour or two at the end of the rental as compensation, but he didn't. We wouldn't have used it anyway because of our flight time, but the offer would have been nice.
Alex, your list of rules are scary! You need to make them sound a little more friendly, as most people with the sort of budget to rent your home will be respectful of it. It was very important to us that the house was smoke-free, and it was.
We never did find the on-switch for the jacuzzi so were very glad we didn't pay for the heating of it!
The location was great; we didn't want to be right on the strip, but the drive there was easy and there's a Walmart about 3 miles away. I know Vegas a little but it was a first as a family holiday - my husband was surprised by how much there was to do for all of us. Our favourite family outing was the helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon; I wish we'd chosen to do the one with the landing, but owing to my fear of flying we just did the straight hour-and-a-bit flight. Not cheap, but worth it.
The kids loved the indoor sky-diving and we all enjoyed Ka and Mystere. We went to see David Copperfield to humour my daughter, and were surprised by how much we enjoyed this show, not liking magicians usually.
Red Rock Canyon is lovely and well worth the drive, as a nice half-day out. Ethel M didn't really impress as a visit - only worth it if you're going to Henderson anyway for the Galleria Mall. But the chocolate was lovely.

Owner's Response: Hi Jane,
Thanks for your comments. Sorry about the mix up about the cleaning, my cleaning lady had a family emergency. I will waive your cleaning fee for your next stay at any of my houses. I replaced my property manager due to that very reason. My number is always available for any reason. Sorry my rules are scary, they are boiler plate, copied from other rental agreements. Lol For any future questions, please feel free to email / call me to discuss them.
I hope to hear from you for your next visit to Las Vegas.
Sincerely,
Alex
