When renting from us, you are not dealing with an impersonal management company but with the actual owners. This is our dream house. We have equipped it how we like it and LOVE to share it with other people.
Tim & Rosa Raub purchased this house in 2007
We have been all up and down the Texas Coast. There is not another location like Port Alto. It is a tight knit, unincorporated community with about 100 homes. Many are occupied with full time residents who are some of the friendliest people around. They drive golf carts around the roads and wave to everyone they see. Truly an undiscovered gem, Port Alto is on a 3 mile wide bay with fabulous views in all directions. We guarantee you will LOVE The Texas Court House!
The Texas Hill Country limestone make this a unique and luxurious house. The house was dubbed 'The Court House' by the local soon after it was built because of the way it looked. We bought it from the original owners/builders. They were two brothers who made two identical Master Suites for each of them upstairs as well as many other personal touches. The house was a labor of love when it was built and when we continued the upgrades after it was purchased by us.
Texas is warm and humid in this area. Texas is viewed as dry and arid with Cattle Ranches. Maybe in West Texas, but since Texas is the size of France, it has many areas of climate and fauna. Our House is located on the coastal plains -- a flat area which is warm in the summer and quite mild in the winter. The photos in the listing were taken in late October and show the still-green Vegetation. From the back deck of the house, you can see for 10 mi. or more.
Port Lavaca is a wonderful place with many activities. With some of the best fishing anywhere right out your front door, you might not want to go anyplace else. However, if you do want to venture out, there is a 9 hole golf course nearby with green fees under $30.00. Also, a nice, clean beach with very little wave action for the kids is close. Day trips can be made to the Gulf for surfing or deep sea fishing. Nearby is the Aransas Wildlife Refuge with the VERY rare and endangered North American Whooping Crane.
Other Activities: Kayaking, Bird Watching, dolphin watching, boating, Taking in the incredible view
