Sea Cove Cottage is a 1940s cottage located on one of the most beautiful parts of the Maine coast. Fully modernized, but retains its original charm. Large, comfortable home with hardwood floors and lots of windows. Ocean view from living room, sun room, bedrooms, kitchen and backyard. Watch lobster boats, porpoises, and bald eagles while sipping cocktails on the deck outside or relaxing in bed. Large, private backyard has plenty of space for lawn games. Launch your kayak into the ocean by the house, explore miles of spectacular waterways around islands of Harpswell and Casco Bay. Good fishing spot just outside your door. Small rocky beach steps away. Public boat launch nearby. Boat rentals (motor/sail) nearby. Take ferry ride to see Casco Bay isles. Scenic walking trails nearby. House is on a private peninsula. Only 20 minutes to historical Brunswick, home of Maine State Music Theatre, Bowdoin College, shops, movie theaters. Near Freeport, Portland, Bath.

Harpswell is made up of a series of long, skinny fingers of land reaching into the ocean, and dozens of islands, including Orr's Island. The area has hundreds of miles of coast that you can explore, ranging from exposed ocean frontage to wide bays to calm, twisty inlets. When you drive around Harpswell, your breath will be taken away by the ocean views. Harpswell is one of the most beautiful parts of the Maine coast and because of its geography, it is not 'on the way' to anywhere, so it has remained unspoiled, despite being very close to Portland, Freeport, Brunswick, and Bath. If you want the real Maine, this is the place to come. There are great restaurants (especially seafood), swimming beaches, boat launches, walking trails through scenic woods with glacier-carved cliffs, world-class sea kayaking and boating, shopping, historical sightseeing, arts, music, and theater events, and just about anything else you could possibly want on a vacation.

A week of bliss

Loved the house. Comfortable, well stocked, clean. Only one bed (queen bed in the bedroom that was NOT the master bedr.) had a mattress that sagged terribly into the middle. All the others were great.
The view was gorgeous. The property was quiet. I loved that it was off the beaten path and so secluded.
The weather was perfect - I know they had just had 3 weeks of rain prior to our arrival, but our week was perfect.
Lots of good clear info about the surrounding area, where to eat, what to look at, etc.
I thought it was a week of sheer bliss.
Owner's Response: We are so lucky to have such nice people staying with us. We are so glad they had such a good time and that everything was great for them.

We really appreciate the feedback on the mattress - we're sticklers for comfy beds. We had a new mattress put in the day after we got this review.

We want you to have a really great vacation when you stay at our house.

Quaint and Comfortable

We had a wonderful week in this house. I would definitely return- off-season would be fun, here, with the large fireplace. The master bedroom is spectacular. It is certainly rustic and not equipped for any but the most basic cooking- but that is easily remedied! Beach access crosses neighbor's yard but it is a great place for rock climbing and sea glass collection. The house is not as secluded as the picture implies but still just as charming. The owners have been friendly and responsive from start to finish.

Our family hadn't been back to Maine in more than a decade and wanted a quiet and convenient vacation spot with a coastal view. Sea Cove Cottage was all we'd hoped for a more. Quaint beach house with all the essentials and short drive to our old haunts. Had a good view of some of the local 4th of July fireworks. The sunrises were absolutely stunning. We'd love to come back.

Step Back into Old Maine Charm

This was an idyllic vacation. Grandparents, baby and parents all happy with lots of special memories in this charming, simple and spacious Maine cottage. Loved the feeling of being away from it all but close to various points of interest, from puffin spotting to LL Bean. Beautiful views from the house, right on the water. Rustic in style, but with everything you need, and very friendly and helpful owner who went to considerable trouble to accommodate our baby and to fix a toilet when there was a problem. Car required.

Wonderful view!!!!

Stayed at this wonderful home the first week of September with three friends. We all had a wonderful time. The view is spectacular and the house was very comfortable. I can attest that the mattress from previous review was replaced - I am a stickler for a good mattress and I slept great the whole week. Would happily recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay on the water. Loved sitting on the lawn and watching the sea and lobster boats.
