A perfect family getaway

We had a fabulous weeklong summer respite at this wonderful home. Prior to booking our vacation, I looked at dozens of houses in the Poconos before deciding to choose this home as our destination, and it did not disappoint. And it truly is a home, beautiful both inside and out, yet so comfortable and appealing we felt right at home almost immediately.
Our week away ranks among one of the best family vacations we have ever taken, and the comfort, convenience, and amenities of this home truly enhanced our time together. We have five children, from infant to age 12, and there was something here for everyone to enjoy.
Outside, we fished early in the morning right off the dock, took the kayak and pedalboat out on the very quiet lake, played on the sandy beach and splashed in the water, pitched horeshoes in the wonderful yard, and large deck.
Inside, the home is clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to relax, board games, a great kitchen for cooking, and comfy seating in the family room perfect for watching a movie or reading a good book. My boys played countless games of chess on the superb chess table.
We had so much to do at home, we had no need to leave, but the location was great for the times we ventured out. Don't miss Hickory Run State Park, mere minutes away. The boulder field, remnants of the last ice age, is impressive to behold. Also in the park, Hawk Falls a beautiful waterfall reached by an easy hike (bring a swimsuit, to take a dip in the very cool water) was a highlight of our trip - we visited the falls twice it was so much fun. Also close was Lake Harmony, we had a great breakfast at Piggy's one morning and spent one day at the Split Rock indoor waterpark which the kids loved.
The kids loved visiting The Country Junction nearby (general store, ice cream, small petting farm, playground) and we capped the week off with an evening stroll around the town of Jim Thorpe and a great dinner at the Broadway Grille & Pub. So much to do within easy reach, the location of the home was perfect, yet a quiet place to return to and relax.
I rent direct from owners almost exclusively for our family vacation accomodations. Dominic and Stacy were fantastic hosts, were very responsive to questions and were so nice to work with it made our stay even better.
My kids all want to go back, and we hope to return here one day for another escape. I highly recommend this home for a relaxing, refreshing destination
