About The Owner

I am a Maui resident of 28 years and a state licensed Real Estate Broker. My wife and I live and work in Kihei/Wailea, and enjoy one of the finest places in the world to visit. Both part-time and full-time residents are happy to share their knowledge of the island and the many activities available. We welcome your stay to our island and hope you will have a wonderful vacation.

Kauhale Makai (Village by the Sea) is one of Maui's best moderately priced vacation properties. Our penthouse condo was purchased in 2006. Great floor plan: Both the bedroom and the living room can access the large ocean-view lanai through floor to ceiling glass slider doors. We were able to buy one of the best locations in the complex at a very good price. We took the money we saved on the purchase price and completely remodeled our 1 bedroom, 1 bath home. Everything is new (2009): Kitchen, Bath, Flooring, Bedroom and Furniture. Free High Speed Wireless Internet. New, Large, Flat Screen TV and I-Pod Doc in 2012.

My husband and I stayed at the Kauhale Makai for 6 days over Easter. The unit was spacious and well fitted out with all the amenities required to make our holiday comfortable. Communication with the owner was fabulous & we appreciated the service call to help us connect to the internet. You do need a car to access restaurants and travel around the island. A would definitely recommend this unit to friends & family.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

For our first trip to Maui in July of 2008, I hunted around VRBO til I stumbled on this one and knew it was the place for us :) Coincidentally our friends had booked months ago and unbeknownst to me at the time, I ended up booking a place right beside them. So it happened for a reason!

Replies to my emails were prompt and all my many questions were answered. When we arrived - it looked exactly as pictured, but even better. I'm a fan of contemporary design and this place was very peaceful, and the decor definitely played a lot into that.

We always looked forward to coming home, and we really enjoyed our 10 night stay here. The view from the lanai is great, you can never get tired of watching the sunset. The property does have reviews as well on a guest book located there and everyone that stayed here really loves the place. We sure did! Great job on the remodeling!

We consider Kihei a great central location in Maui and despite an unfortunate costly ending to our stay due to uncontrollable forces (of nature), I would come back here. But just be aware of the trade winds, they are quite powerful!
