Really cute, just like pictures!

My boyfriend and I stayed here recently for about a week and had a great time. It is very peaceful and quiet, but close enough to restaurants, shopping, sightseeing and entertainment. I had to pick someone up at the airport and it literally took me 15 minutes to get there. We fattened up the ducks on the pond and quickly they realized that breakfast was served at 7am and dinner at 9pm. The neighbors are very friendly, and there were always jet skiers and boaters on the lake for entertainment.

Since we couldn't figure out how to use a light switch (duh!), to turn on the lights on the dock/patio there was plenty of firewood to burn fires in the cute fire pit left for guests (sorry for using up so much firewood!).

We didn't cook, but there was plenty of kitchenware and plates, etc. if we had chosen to. Why cook when Schaller's, Abbot's, Pontillo's Pizza, are all less than 5 minutes away? We also LOVE Wegmans Grocery Store (about 5-10 min away), and they prepare some really good take out food like chinese, italian, subs, etc. There is also a park for kids that is less than a 5 minute walk from the house.

We would recommend this house and would stay here again. The owners are easy to get a hold of and will go out of their way to accommodate. The house is very clean and really captures the essence of a small lake/beach community, only a lot more to offer.

Great Place to stay

I was up with a few of my friends for a wedding and stayed through the weekend. The place was just as described. It was beautiful, wish the weather would have been warmer to enjoy the view. Would definately stay here again.

Quiet, relaxing cottage

This is a well-maintained property right along the waterfront of Cranberry Pond. You can literally fish the pond from the back patio, and you can see Lake Ontario from the property.

We were worried the location might be too remote, but the cottage is actually in a quiet neighborhood with good access to Wegmans on Long Pond (about 2 miles) and a neat little Citgo station with a bakery (about 0.5 miles).

The owner is fair and honest. The property requires a refundable security deposit, and because we took good care of the place, this was refunded quickly and no-hassle.

Highly recommended.

Recent family gathering and RIT Visit

We recently traveled to Rochester to visit our twin sons who are students at RIT. We had a hotel room but decide at the last minute to call Mara and see if there was any chance the cottage was available. It was so we canceled the hotel room and had such a wonderful time together as a family making the boys their favorite home cooking and relaxing at the pond. This is the second property we have rented from Mara and Lenny. The cottage had everything we needed and was very accurately described, clean and Mara and Lenny were excellent to work with us in such shirt notice.
We will definitely rent again the next time we're in Rochester.

Cozy and Comfortable!

I would recommend this cottage to anyone traveling to Rochester! I stayed here for 3 months during my transition to relocate to Rochester and I loved the cottage so much I almost didn't want to leave! It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the location is great. The pond provides a peaceful setting yet its fun to watch the occasional activity..waterskiers, fisherman and, of course, the ducks and birds. Its a fun neighborhood for taking a stroll. You can take in the views along Long Pond, Cranberry Pond and just across the road on Lake Ontario. The change of season in the fall is beautiful and I felt comfy snuggled up in the cottage during some early winter storms. And...if you don't know much about Rochester, there really is lots to do here and the cottage is in a convenient location to get to all. To top it off...the owners, Lenny and Mara, are simply wonderful. They are incredibly thoughtful and accomodating. They really do care about their renters. Thank you Lenny and Mara!
