Wonderful three bedroom two bath summer beach cottage in a great location. Originally built in 1938 with all the charm and upgrades. Why drive or walk far, while others say they are close, we are within one block from Scarborough Beach, (see Google maps), and on the bus line. Large front and back three season sun porches with ocean views to relax, read or eat. Master bedroom retreat on second floor with ocean views and ocean facing deck. Sunny and modern fully equipped kitchen and family room, cable TV/DVD/stereo etc. Large shed house for bike or beach storage. Outside enclosed hot/cold shower, 4 car parking, grill, washer/dryer etc. Read our reviews. Our home is surrounded by lots of activities. Restaurants are within walking distance, mini or regular golf, go-carts, batting cage, skating etc. are a few minutes drive. The cottage is within one block from the beach surrounded by summer activities. Restaurants including clam shacks, lobster, family and fine dining are within walking distance and a short drive. Mini or regular golf are a few minutes drive as are batting cages, go-carts and in-line skating etc. Short drive to historic downtown, Newport mansions, Port Galilee fish markets, Providence shopping, airport, Foxwoods Casinos, Watch Hill, Mystic Seaport, Aquarium etc. Narragansett has several great beaches to explore. Scarborough State Beach (which is within one block) offers body surfing and board riding on its waves. It has concession stands & bath house with toilets. Roger Wheeler Beach/Sand Hill Cove is two miles away and has gentler waves, a playground and crafts for kids. Narragansett Town Beach is approx. one mile. The area is great for walking, biking or jogging. The Block Island Ferry, deep sea fishing charters and fish markets are few minute drive.

Notes: About a 200 Sq Ft shed house for play or storage like bikes, beach gear etc. We keep it locked with personal items but it can be opened with prior notice. Internet access is with your wireless card or modem and not available via service at the house. Air conditioning is rarely needed since the house is generally cool with the windows open and ocean breezes. For security reasons, we keep the a/c units locked. If things unexpectedly heat up you can put them in the windows but we would need notice to unlock since we aren't local. Rubbish removal is only on Mondays so there could be garbage from the prior week. We pay them extra to pick up from the side of the house so you don't have to bring anything to the street.

We loved feeling the ocean breezes in the bright and sunny screened in porch with ocean view. The place was extremely clean and felt like a home rather than a rental. The house was beautifully decorated with original canvas art and had a great home theater system in the family room for the nights we rented movies. We loved being so very close to the beach. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone.'

Great Location

This is a great family vacation home. It is not setup for more than one adult couple as the the bunk bed with a dbl below is really for children and other bedroom has twin bed only. The master bedroom is large and has a comfortable king size bed and a wonderful deck. The ad had said there was AC. The AC units were in a shed and we had to install ourselves after a wk of trying to get into the locked shed. Also the rental was supposed to include internet, there was none, the owner arranged for me to go to the next town to pickup a modem. Also, the dryer did not work and we had to wait 1 wk before another one could be delievered. Although the house and location were very nice the experience was not and the owners did not offer any compensation for our inconvienence.
Owner's Response: Our bed configuration is clearly listed on Home Away as is the fact that internet access is only with a wireless card. To avoid issues we offered and paid for internet service while the renters were there. The AC units were stored for the winter and accessible as soon as we were told of the rapid heat wave. Our cleaning person made us aware that the washer was working but not draining well late Saturday. A new one was ordered on Monday and the first delivery date was Thursday. We offered a rental discount as well as compensation for any laundry fees.

Forced To Relax!

We stayed here with my 20 year old son and his girl friend. We were more than comfortable. The cottage is clean, bright and spacious. We loved the closed-in porch and the spacious master bedroom upstairs. There is an open deck off the master bedroom. Short walk to Scarborough beach - which is a beautiful beach. Check out Spain Resturant we like it a lot. Nice area to bike. The owner, Lou was very nice to work with!

Great Beach House

We very much enjoyed our stay at this house in early August. The house is in great condition and it is close to the beach. It is even nicer than the pictures. As an earlier poster said, it feels like you are staying at a friends house rather than a rental. We particularly liked the sunroom and the very short walk to the beach. From the master bedroom, you could feel the cool breezes from the ocean. There are a lot of great things to do in the area. This is a great house for a family with kids.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Narragansett. We loved the proximity to the beach! The cottage was clean, well-equipt and beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet. We would highly recommend this property, especially to families.

Nice Vacation Home

My family and I stayed at this home next to a great beach in Rhode Island from 7/12/08 - 7/19/08 and we had a great time. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us. It was a short walk to Scarborough Beach, which is family oriented and beautiful. Great food at the snack bar! The house was well kept and in a nice family oriented environment. The back sun porch is a great place to relax and feel the cool ocean breezes. Plenty of room for all to eat and sleep. Very nice upstairs master bedroom with its own bath and balcony with ocean views. Nicely remodeled kitchen and nice enclosed front porch. The outdoor shower was a favorite to all after a day at the beach. Owners are lovely people and very easy to deal with. Check in and out is a breeze with nice neighbor across the street exchanging the keys. Ample parking for 2-3 cars. Many things to do nearby which require short drive. This was our first vacation to Rhode Island and this vacation home made it a positive experience for the whole family. We plan to go back soon!
